As everyone knows or should know is Mario series did have a skeleton in their closet when it came to 2 because both of them are canonical to the series but one of them for us Americans while the other one for the Japaneses.
Super Mario Bros. had four sequels Super Mario Bros. The Lost Levels, Super Mario Bros. 2, Super Mario Bros. 3 & Super Mario World.
Super Mario Bros. The Lost Levels (1986)
Levels World 1-1 World 1-2 World 1-3 World 1-4 World 2-1 World 2-2 World 2-3 World 2-4 World 3-1 World 3-2 World 3-3 World 3-4 World 4-1 World 4-2 World 4-3 World 4-4 World 5-1 World 5-2 World 5-3 World 5-4 World 6-1 World 6-2 World 6-3 World 6-4 World 7-1 World 7-2 World 7-3 World 7-4 World 8-1 World 8-2 World 8-3 World 8-4 World 9-1 World 9-2 World 9-3 World 9-4 World A-1 World A-2 World A-3 World A-4 World B-1 World B-2 World B-3 World B-4 World C-1 World C-2 World C-3 World C-4 World D-1 World D-2 World D-3 World D-4
Super Mario Bros. 2 (1988)

Lost levels was the sequel? I didn't know that I simply thought it was harder, I think I beat it completely though.

I will explain it to you and I don't mine at all in doing so what happened was Super Mario Bros. 2 in Japan got release 1986 for famicom the reason it didn't get release in America and Europe was it was too similar to the original and was far too difficult since Super Mario Bros. 3 was there in Japan they needed a sequel for USA and UK so they took Doki Doki Panic turned it into a Mario game and that's how there's two Super Mario Bros. 2.
Super Mario Bros. The Lost Levels Super Mario Bros. 2
Super Mario Bros. 2 Super Mario USA

I have played the Lost Levels and they were pretty hard in my recollection.
Didn't they get released on Super Mario All Stars for the SNES?
