One of the biggest rivalry I ever got into Twisted Metal against Vigilante 8 I'm talking about series.
Twisted Metal series is more violent but yet even greater gameplay car combat game series.
Vigilante 8 series tried taking on Twisted Metal to only to lose and try to make a comeback which won't last long.

Yeah Twisted Metal if you see some of the concepts they were going to go a different direction of Twisted Metal 2 by giving the cars mission to accomplish.

I don't know. This is kind of hard for me to choose between. I liked things about both.
I'm going with Twisted Metal

Vigilante 8.
The standard weapons are much less abstract and more fun to use, the characters are more interesting, the levels were more interactive, and it just felt more solid in regard to physics.
It's weird that I was actually thinking about this the other day.

The vehicles just didn't have the same appeal or character that we've come to love, still V8 is an ok game.

I think Vigilante 8 had a tighter control scheme than Twisted Metal but Twisted Metal had more indepth characters and plot.

Also Vigilante 8 didn't force you to memorize all kinds of different fighting moves for each character. Which helps and doesn't help.
