Man those Pokemon cards were awesome even know I never played with them. One time I was so bored I counted how much I had, and I had about 960 cards. Now that I think about it. I could have saved a lot more money for something more useful.

Yea but I love mine, and I don't regret those days.

I did manage to sell my yu gi oh cards, and I can't even remember what I bought with them, so I was better off with the cards. But then again I would have had to buy more and more to stay in game.

mewtwo takes it easily. Honestly I had a team full of level 100 Mewtwos and kids would come to my house and challenged me. Nothing they dished out could get passed my first one.
and mew is a wuss. I have one of those too. He's not as powerful as mewtwo is gameplaywise.
did anybody see the movie? I remember I kept rewinding the part where ash runs in between mew and mewtwo and gets owned.

What game, the original Pokemon? Because Mew was far better and you could solo the game with him, he could do ALL the moves in the game and was only accessible via gameshark. I have a mew, they are quite rare.

Mew and mewtwo are probably even, Mew might be even more powerful, Mew just doesn't have the intent to destroy everything, he was playing with Mewtwo.

this was on red version, but in the movie, Mew wasn't playing with him the whole time. and the only way he could play with him was dodge all his blasts. while he is faster, mew can't dish like mewtwo can. But they were evenly matched when they threw everything they had at eachother, if you remember what happened to ash.

in the game mew does get all the abilities which open up for some nasty combos, but from my experience, mewtwo has a lot more firepower and defense. he wins gameplaywise IMO, but in the movie I think they were stalemated.

I agree that in storyline it's a tie however...
for one thing Mew isn't as cruel as mewtwo, so if doesn't really matter. and also Mewtwo's stats are naturally much higher.
Here are the stats I have for lv100 mewtwo (I'll show you two of them)
ATT 313 306

and lvl100 mew

and I didn't beef up my mewtwo's with anything special while training them either. I did it just like I did Mew. as you can see, their overall stats are clearly much higher.

In terms of specials Mewtwo's will definitely suffice, as he has access to some of the most powerful in the game. On top of that he can use recover. Now I'm not arguing that mewtwo wins in terms of specials, mew is effectively a wild card in this department. but Mewtwo has sufficient specials to win.
Also while Mewtwo is a psychic type, I haven't found dark pokemon to be exceptionally effective against him despite their elemental advantage.

btw do you remember what level you get mew at? Isn't it 1?

Yes, Mewtwo's stats and hp are mildly higher (but twenty or thirty higher isn't a big difference at level 100) Mew sacrifices some stats for the strongest abilities in the game, which make numerous combos that are otherwise broken. Hyperbeam, flying, Solar beam, you can have all of the beams and even do illegal traps. Mewtwo doesn't have that, he's just strong.

It's the equivalent of having a high level fighter with massive stats and healing potions, against a fighter/mage/thief with less Hp and general stats, but the ability to use any item in the game, along with any spell. One is obviously much more broken (not that mewtwo is weak, as he has the highest stats in the game, he just isn't as powerful when you compare stategy.).

Mew has barrier as well.

They aren't illegal by themselves, but he's banned from play. He has barrier, then he can fly right after and dodge attacks, then dig and Solar Beam.

And not to mention all of the HM's as well as TM's. One move just won't look good for Mewtwo.

I agree with THAT assessment, I just don't think he's better than Mew, he's definitely second however.

Of course, I did that AGES ago... I brought it on long trips and would raise new ones to level 100, especially Dragon types as they evolved slowly.
