Okay, here's how it is. Paul is preparing for the King of Iron fist tournament 5 and he's choosen Ryo as a sparring partner. The thing is Ryo doesn't know that he's been choosen! Paul enters the Sakazaki dojo in a ol' school "Dojo Buster" fashion. Unfortunately for him, Ryo isn't in a good mood. Tempers flare, and what was supposed to be a sparring match becomes a full fledged duel. Three rounds each, no holds barred. The fight take splace at Sakazaki mansion, who wins?

Damn. I did this one back in KMC. Only I did it like this:
Paul and Ryo have been fighting each other for more than 20 years.
All this began shortly after Ryo, along with Robert Garcia have successfully rescured Yuri and reunited with the siblings' father, Takuma Sakazaki.
Following a motorcycle race, which Ryo had lost, he and Paul fought with Ryo winning the first round, thanks to the Haohshokouken.
However, Paul wins the second round (shortly before the King of Iron Fist Tournament 2), the Special Phoenix Smash was the move which did Ryo in.
Cut to 20 years later...
Following the fifth Iron Fist Tournament, Paul is in Second Southtown. He spies the new Kyokugenryu School and enters.
Apparently, Ryo - now the new Mr. Karate - has challenged Paul to a match to see who is the better fighter once and for all. Paul is not one to back down so easily and accepts the match.

If Ryo is a bit older I am going to have to go with him, if it was just current, I would go with Paul.

Well, I'm using the older version of Ryo. The one from Fatal Fury: Wild Ambition.

If Ryo gets out of range he can bury Paul with projectiles, but if Paul get's in grappling range he can slam Ryo all over the place.

I'm going with Paul. Paul broke a boulder with a punch, Ryo....................................
well he's got fire balls that do an unknown amount of damage. it managed to REALLY rip king's clothes tho, lol.

I see what your getting at, but Boulder punching or not his punch is useless if he cannot get in range.

Yea, but how long do U think Ryo's seemingly weak fire balls will hold pual back?

Ryo can spam Hoashishokens as well you know, but than again Hoashishoken best feat is destroying clothes. I'm not sure if it's lethal or not, it's said to be the strongest in Kyokugen so I cannot be sure.
Edit: My mistake, it's best feat was destroying Nest satellite. But, it might be the strongest variation I.E. Fully charged Hoashishoken. If Ryo can generate that much power I don't see Paul surviving a ranged assault.

Well a lot of fireballs in DBZ tended to just rip clothes, and we all know how uber THEY are...

Yea but the DBZ fire balls have feats like blowing up planets, and destroying Mountains, that's how we no they're uber. Does Ryo have any feats with his fire balls? And we no Y DBZ fire balls don't always kill the target. The targets are really really durable. Like ultra unhuman.

Also, we've seen Hoashishoken destroy NEST satellite, that's pretty powerful. I see your point because Ryo is under devloped, maybe SNK shouldn't have wasted time leeching off Capcom characters move-sets and developed Ryo and Kyokugen a bit more. Which is sad because Takuma and Mr. Karate are my best characters in KOF.

Really, thier R like over 60 chrarcters and I bet you could only find decent feats for about 10 of them.
What does a NEST satelite look like? B-Cuz if it looks like a regular 1, big deal. Sean's regular kicks and punches can destroy an SUV in under 40 sec. And didn't Takuma throw that Hoashishoken? But I am B-ing a bit anal when it comes 2 Ryo's projectiles, I think he can win if he keeps paul far way, but he has 2 be fast 2, B-cuz he can try to get away from Paul and Paul can just catch him or chase him. I think Paul takes it more often than not.

SNK writers just suck at developing them. What does a NEST satelite look like? B-Cuz if it looks like a regular 1, big deal. Sean's regular kicks and punches can destroy an SUV in under 40 sec. I supose that is the case...
That is a pretty good feat if only he had more showings like that and the SNK guys had solid feats like that, then it wouldn't B so hard 2 gauge their power.

Agree'd, but when you have so many characters and writers just keep adding more whilst not developing the already characters. They become lost in obscurity, especially when you play favorites with the main cast.

I think that's Y they R shrinking the cast 4 KOF XII down 2 20. I was really excited about that game, even more than SFIV but after hearing that the cast will only have 20 characters, No specific teams, every character will revert back to thier original moves, no SDMs, no story, and no endings, it really turned me off a bit. I am more excited about KOF 2002 Ult Match now.

Yeah, KOF 98 and 2K2 ULT are looking really good?

Yea, I'd say the best game to do many characters was Alpha 3, it's like they spent some time and made it worth playing through. I know Capcom vs SNK 2 wasn't canon, but that would be considered more of a rush job.

I've always felt that Alpha 3 was the rush job. I can see what you mean, to a degree. It is however a lot better than the "endings" you see today. Capcom is just lazy now anyways.

The thing is at that time, Capcom started to venture into "cheap" endings. If you compare Alpha 3's ending to it's predecessor Alpha 2's endings. You'll realize how much they decreased in quality, But then again Alpha 3 was a rush job made due to the popularity of Alpha 2. As for Capcom, they've lost all the talent that has made them what the are today and they are definitely lazy. Fanboys tend to disagree, but they are fanboys after all. . .lol.

Well call me a fanboy cuz I've played SF4 and it is awesome. i think they were lazy til about RE4, they really kicked it N2 gear after that. SF4, TVC, SF2HD, and SBX will totally kick major ass.
Alpha 3's story was poor but the game it's self is still 1 of the best fighters off all time.

SF4 is fun, but it's obviously a lazy design ethic since all they are doing is putting many old fighters in. The Game play is looking good, but I'm not excited about it. TVC looks cool, but I'm burned out of versus games that follow MVC formula. SF2HD doesn't matter too much to me, it's a good game, though. Capcom still makes good games, but they threw away the talent to make great games IMO. These modern games will never leave the same kind of impression that their predecessors left on me back when they were in full force during the 90's.
Alpha 3 has alot of nostalgia value, but if I really really get deep with the game play. It comes up short in comparison to Alpha 2.
