I gave it a good rating when combined with Love Hina Again you know. It got a 4/5. Dragonball Z at it's best was a 3/5.

Chobits Hideki Motosuwa is a poor country guy who just moved to the city to further his study. One day on his way home from work, he discovers a 'Persocom', a maiden-shaped robot laying in the dumpster, discarded and wrapped up in bandages. So he takes the thing home and faces extreme moral issues because he's falling in love with it and doesn't know what to do about it. So the entire show is about a farmboy who likes porn but can't seem to come to terms with the fact that he's falling in love with a computer shaped like a person. Despite what you might think about the premise of the show, this show wasn't that bad. I've avoided it for a while because I wasn't really all that interested. I'm not saying that was a mistake, I'm just saying that it wasn't as bad as one might think. I've certainly seen worse. Like many of these animes I see potential for greatness and the shows usually fall short. This one is no exception. Essentially the entire show comes down to the point that love conquers all. Yup. "Cliché" is a word that comes to mind here. Musically the show is original and creative. I would give it high credits there. It's almost worth watching just for that. In conclusion - the show is funny, entertaining but mostly it's just short of great. 3/5 - If you're looking for comedies there are funnier out there and if you're looking for romances there are better out there.

Mythical Detective Loki Ragnarok Ah, how the mighty have fallen! Caged inside a little boy’s body and banished to Earth by the almighty Odin, the still-proud-and-powerful Loki now runs the Enjaku Detective Agency. Joined by his trusted assistant Yamino and a beautiful (but accident prone) high school girl named Mayura, Loki earns a living probing the darkest corners of the paranormal, the occult, and the otherwise peculiar. And yet the one metaphysical mystery that involves him directly remains unsolved: what has he done to be exiled to Earth? How can he return to Asgard? Why do the other Norse Gods want him dead? If you are even vaguely familiar with Norse mythology then this is a very interesting turn on it. I enjoyed this show immensely. You'll find the characters to be imaginative and entertaining. The arts not anything special nor is the music but it's also not worse than any other either. It build up to a strong climax...that isn't there. I won't spoil the ending for you but don't expect a lot because you aren't going to get it. Cutesy elements abound in this. Don't be suckered by them because this is not the anime you think it is and if it wasn't for the incredibly strange twist on Norse mythology this brings this show would be dull. At first I thought that this was a rip-off of Case Closed...then I thought it was a rip-off of a few other animes...but then I realized that it was someone's desperate attempt at making the Norse mythology an anime. Not a bad attempt if I say so myself. 4/5 - Interesting and educational. There's also one episode in this anime that I would consider the second funniest moment in anime. All the other moments are in Azumanga Diaoh.

Final Fantasy VII - Advent Children Two years after the events in "Final Fantasy VII", a disease called 'Seikon-Shoukougun', or 'Geostigma', is spreading through the planet. This disease is believed to have been caused by the body fighting off foreign material that invaded the body two years earlier, at the end of "Final Fantasy VII". Guilt-ridden and haunted by his past, ex-SOLDIER Cloud Strife has decided to live a secluded, solitary life away from his friends while maintaining "Strife's Delivery Service", whose headquarters is located in Tifa Lockheart's bar, the Seventh Heaven. Tifa's bar serves as an orphanage for children stricken with Geostigma. Here, Tifa keeps an eye on Barret's six-year-old daughter, Marlene, while Barret searches the planet for an alternative energy source to the Planet's energy, Mako. One day, Cloud receives a phone call from the former Shinra, Inc. president, Rufus, asking him for protection from a mysterious man named Kadaj. Kadaj, in the meantime, along with his brothers Loz and Yazoo, are searching for their "mother", and seem to believe that Cloud knows where to find her. Meanwhile, Vincent Valentine has been wandering the planet gathering information on Kadaj's scheme, and Cloud and his friends must come together again to fight these new enemies. You're kidding me. You mean I haven't reviewed this yet? Well holy crap! Where have I been? Okay, let's say that you have played the game - Congratulations! You've got exactly what you were wishing for and then some. It's a spectacular representation of the characters you love including Sid's ridiculous chauvinism. And don't worry...he's in this. You know who, but then again odds are that you've already seen it by now so you know who. Okay, let's say that you HAVEN'T played the game - So what? It's still amazing! Watching this makes you a fan almost immediately. I've never had a person watch it who didn't say, "Wow! That was awesome!" Why? Because the music is spectacular! The CGI unlike anything you've ever seen! The characters are...well...they are the same characters that made RPG's truly popular. And the villains are...well...you should really see for yourself. 5/5 - I know, I know. I said, "Video game movies suck." I'm aware of that but you really can't hold this against me, because...well...it's really good okay! Leave me alone.

Final Fantasy - The Spirits Within In the year 2065, the next great assault against an invading race of phantom-like aliens is about to be launched. Dr. Aki Ross, a brilliant young scientist, races to find the invaders' secrets, not only to save the planet, but herself as well after her body is infected by alien particles. She teams up with the prestigious Deep Eyes military squadron, led by her old friend Grey Edwards. But as Aki, her mentor Dr. Sid, and Grey work toward a peaceful end, the scheming General Hein devises a plot to eradicate the aliens in one swift, destructive blow...even if it destroys the Earth right along with them. This is not a video game movie. *But the title says...* Yes! We all know what the title says but it's deceptive. It has very little, next to nothing, to do with the video games. Believe me. It was a vast disappointment when I saw it in theaters. So, if I can save you one problem right off the bat...DON'T THINK OF THIS AS A VIDEO GAME MOVIE!!! Think of it as a random sci-fi. Believe me, you'll be better off and appreciate the movie much more. The movie is beautiful still, despite it's age and the voice acting isn't terrible. Of course I think Alec Baldwin did awful but that's just my opinion. The plot is good. The music is okay. Take it as it is and you'll be surprised to find a good movie here. 4/5 - Some people don't think this is even an anime. I say - WHO CARES?! Thpppppt!

How does Advent Children have a 5/5? It seems like the whole movie is a fight then just filling up time until the next fight. It didn't have really that great of a story, which is sad because the game's story was great.

It didn't have really that great of a story, which is sad because the game's story was great. Have you ever seen the movie Winged Migration? It gets at least four stars and all it is, is an entire movie of bird watching. Why is it so famous? Stunning visuals and a different look at something we're all familiar with. Final Fantasy VII was something in the area of 17 hours of gameplay if you really got into it. The plot was indepth and the characters were inventive. There is no way they are going to give us a movie (or maybe even another game) that matches the plot from that. Their objective was to give the fans what they want...and they succeeded with flying colors. The fights were far better than I anticipated, the music was excellent and the visuals were breathtaking at times. The plot isn't as bad as you might think and even if it were just fillers to get to the next fight (which I think is far too harsh a judgement to pass on it.) it would still mark for at least a 4/5. Why? Because I'm rating these on viewability. What I feel would be a good selection for a person to watch. In my personal (and very humble [meaning dumb]) opinion, just about any person could watch this and be entertained on some level. It's good work. HOWEVER! This is a big deal with me. If you feel differently then you are more than welcome to post your own review of it, and I thank you very much for your input. Seriously. I mean that. Thank you. ;D

I do agree that it has awesome music, and the animation is great. I still liked the movie a lot. I just need to remember everyone has their opinion. I think the only real thing about the movie is Kadaj. I don't really care for blue/gray hair homosexuals (if he isn't. It is really convincing. Also, it is not just the hair. Homosexuals in general creep me out).

Grave of the Fireflies Premise: It's WWII in Japan and two children are escaping their home town to find help elsewhere. I bet you're feeling pretty good about yourself aren't you? You aren't sick. You aren't poor. You aren't horribly crippled in any sense. You aren't emotionally scarred...yet. Watch this and all of that will change. You'll never feel good about anything ever again. Slight exagerration there but for at least a few hours you'll feel just about awful for sitting there and watching these two children slowly starve to death. It's so depressing that it would be more humane to shoot yourself in the head. By far the most depressing movie I have ever seen and I've seen some depressing movies (Mystic River). I'm still trying to force my wife to watch this that way I won't have to suffer alone anymore. 5 out of 5. Spectacular...and incredibly devastating. It may be depressing but it serves its purpose perfectly. I'd recommend it...despite the effect it has. I agree. This was an awesome movie, but I'm so depressed right now. That little kid was so cute, and it made me so sad all the things that happened to them.

Review Power Stone (never seen it before). Review Fatal fury too!
IMO, the Final Fantasy 7 movie kinda sucked, Sephiroth didn't get enough show time and he didn't have grand death, that most villains should have. Also, the voice acting was sort of iffy, even though there was some good voice talent. And the Spirits With In totally sucked, period.

I'll get to work on watching the other tonight. Also I'll get on Power Stone immediately. It's kind of hard to give a lot of time to a guy like Sephiroth...you know...what with him being dead and all. And as far as grand deaths go I'd say Sephiroth had the grandest death in the whole movie. Of course not many people died at all but still. Also are you complaining about the voice acting in Advent Children or Spirits Within? Is it the original voices or the dubbed voices? Sheesh. I must have been the only person who liked those movies. I'm half tempted to take them down from my Anime Review as is. Of course if I remove them then I'm removing Appleseed. That's not a problem for me. ;D Watch out for Spriggan, Fruit Basket, and Club to Death Angel to be posted this week...probably tonight.

Fruit Basket After the death of her mother, young Tohru Honda has been secretly living on her own in a tent. Her life changes forever when she stumbles upon the secret of the Sohma family, whose land she has been living on. The secret of the Sohma family is a curse that changes some members of the family into animals of the Chinese Zodiac when they are hugged by someone of the opposite sex. Now, living with the Sohma family, Tohru is in the middle of ancient conflicts between Zodiac rivals as she wears the burden of the Sohma family secret. Despite this, the members of the Sohma family find a new peace thanks to the presence of Tohru. I’ve been really torn on how to rate this show. So I did some research. Most people rate this extremely high. The lowest score I’ve seen for it is 8.8 out of 10. If I were rating out of 10 I probably would have given it a similar score. However, I’m rating out of 5 and everyone else has given it a 5 out of 5. Why? Because of the fantastic story, interesting characters, and fantastic ups and downs. This show will have you crying one minute then laughing the next…however. The ending is fairly dissatisfying. As strong as many of the episodes are it deserves a very strong ending but it ends like so many other animes. 4 out of 5 – I actually liked it enough to be a 5 but I can’t rate things judging solely on my favor.

Spriggan Yu Ominae is in high school, but he's not just a student. He is a member of Arcam Corporation's elite armed force known as Spriggan. The Arcam Corporation's mission is simple: to make sure that powerful ancient artifacts are protected and sealed off, so that no nation in the world can take advantage of them. In a recent excavation though, Arcam discovers a legendary artifact like no other -- Noah's Ark. But Noah's Ark turns out to be no ordinary vessel. It has data on the various life forms on earth, and anyone who gains control of the Ark can choose to destroy everything and start a new world by creating new life. Arcam must do everything in its power to keep the Ark from falling in the wrong hands... and Yu Ominae is just the guy for the job. If you’ve been watching anime for very long then you’ve probably heard something about this. Many of the things I’ve heard were comparisons to Akira which some people consider to be one of the standards for anime. It’s funny that people would compare the two because Otomo was the producer for this. All the hype is true. It has spectacular animation, great musical scores, and a spectacular plot. It is most certainly worth your time. 5/5 Great anime. Watch it! I dare you.
