I just watched them on veoh, but there are advantages to actually having a quality video file too, so I won't try to coerce you into installing any programs.

I've used veoh and it seemed malicious; I uninstalled it right away. Yeah, I prefer having a video file. Did you watch it with subs or dubbed?

Subs. Actually, I know this sounds crazy, but I'd almost advise watching it with dubs. They're not bad at all, and it's been playing on adult swim for a while. I say this because there's a lot of thinking going on with it. It may help to reserve all your brain power for processing what's being said, rather than try to read subs along with it. Granted, I followed it just fine, but part of me wishes I watched it dubbed so I could think about it more. I don't know though. If I were you, I'd sample them both to see what works best.

I'm getting the dubbed version: Eps 1 - 11. I checked the subbed and there wasn't too much difference in mood between the two, so I'll stick with the dubbed versions.

Cool beans, just don't touch the live action version.

Speaking of live action:
I just discovered that my favorite anime (Monster) is coming to the US...
However!!!
It will not be coming in the fashion that I desire. You see, I was hoping for a dubbed version so I could purchase the DVD's. Unfortunately there's no plans for that to happen still! TICK ME OFF!!!
However they have announced that (groan) a live action version will be released in 2009. It's made here in the states and it has two things going for it so far. 1- the original writer 2- a good adapter (the same guy who adapted History of Violence)

I don't know why, but whenever I hear about a live action adaptation from an anime, I always think it's gonna be second rate. But I haven't heard of Monster. What's it about?

Monster Brilliant doctor Kenzo Tenma risks his reputation and promising career to save the life of a critically wounded young boy instead of a politician’s. Nine years later, the child has grown into a serial killer...Can Kenzo stop him? Or will he make another fatal decision? Not a very long premise but I don’t want to reveal too much or I’d ruin the show. Hands down the best anime I’ve seen all year. Gripping, dark and intelligent; this anime rivals Outlaw Star for being my personal favorite of all time. Once I watched the first episode of this show I was hooked. I wasn’t able to stop watching it until I had seen every episode. 5/5 – and I can’t stress how good this show is. Pure genius

BTW.... Monster doesn't rival Outlaw Star anymore. It officially IS my favorite.

sweet. I'm gonna check that one out. You've watched Elfen Lied right? I'm about half way through Monster. It's awesome. I love how all the characters are deep and dynamic. And they've kept Johan pretty ominous so far. Plus the whole detective thing sort of reminds me of Death Note.

Oh well, it's something to review in the new review section. I'm glad you're enjoying Monster. I found the show to be incredibly engrossing. I hope you do as well. Do you have a crunchyroll account?

crunchyroll? I think I came across that site once, but I don't remember registering.
You know what this thread needs? an index. It would be soooo much better if the first page had an index, to say what pages your reviews are on.

That's true.
I'll get started on making one.
Currently I'm still preparing to launch my new Anime Review section. I'm still working out some of the lesser important details. If everything goes as planned then we should be up and running tomorrow night.
I've decided against redoing all of my reveiws but I will touch up a few I thought I was too vague on and a couple of my favorites.
I'll also be taking requests....again. Lord, I haven't taken requests in a while.
