Size really shouldn't be a problem since Iron Man has dealt with enemies several times his own size: Ultimo, Giant Man, Titanium Man, and So forth. I don't see why stark cannot simply out maneuver Optimus when he has so much experience doing so.

As for blowing up planets, I don't know about that. But, Iron man's versatility outclasses that of Optimus primes. Furthermore, he has the strength to put him down. I don't see him losing, unless we bring in Optimus from the unicron trilogy.
