I was just talking to someone from the UK. This is how bad they are with music over there.
Here is the background-
I first heard a piece of Kanye's song "Good Life" on Entourage. I thought it was good. So I told my friend about it, lets call him steverules. I told him that Kanye had a new song that samples MJ's PYT. (He likes the Alvin bit)
OK so I felt like I did my good deed for the day. The next day, there was a youtube video of the bit on Entourage. So I sent him that as well. Now I went beyond my duty as an American trying to help out the lowly UKanians.
So today's convo was this-
steverules: is that Kanye song u downloaded ages ago called good life...with Alvin?
Magic: yh I sent you the song on youtube
steverules: u did?
steverules: it's like...out now...didn't u rip the song from the video?
Magic: Yes i did. I told you I saw it on Entourage, and I sent you a link to that.
Magic: U must have ignored it.
steverules: no my memory is rubbish, u know that I can only remember a few things at a time...I have a 1mb memory in my head
Magic: U have a 1mb mem stick in a 1TB world.
Magic:
Magic: That should have been what I sent you.
steverules:ooh...think I remember it...the background bit isn't from PYT
steverules:it's a good song tho...the good life
Magic: HAHA, so you know better than Kanye what he sampled?
steverules: huh?
Magic: The track, Good Life, is produced by West along with DJ Toomp and Jon Brion. The song also features R&B singer T-Pain. The song uses a sample of P.Y.T. by Michael Jackson. The song is catchy and is one of the more commercial songs on the album.
Magic: You must be listening to the wrong version or something.
steverules: I don't remember that bit being in PYT tho
Magic: You are probably the only person in the world that doesnt realize that Kanye sampled Michael Jackson's PYT.
steverules: most likely
Magic: haha
I guess that the UK doesn't have much in the ways of good music, but come on people- can they really be that tone deaf not to hear it?
