With a good high budget. I could see some of these going pretty well. But not Dragon Ball. But I haven't seen Akira or Gatchamen, so I don't know about those.

It could be awesome if they have an enormous budget and don't spend it all on actors. They'd have to completely ignore the story too. They probably won't though and just the milk the fans as per usual. Still, the nerdrage would be classic as always.
Generally speaking though, anime to live action is a bad idea. Much of the problem would be in realism (can you imagine Spirited Away as a live action picture?), but the big push would be in the details like how most anime characters have huge, very expressive eyes.

For me one of the draws of anime is the art. In a few of these the art is such a draw that a live action version would ruin it. Dragonball update - Picking up in the King Piccolo saga Justin Chatwin ... Goku Emmy Rossum ... Bulma James Marsters ... Lord Piccolo Yun-Fat Chow ... Master Roshi Jamie Chung ... Chi Chi Joon Park ... Yamcha Randall Duk Kim ... Grandpa Gohan Speed Racer update - check the website for crying out loud. speedracerthemovie.warnerbros.com/Akira - So far staring Leonardo DiCaprio and Joseph Gordon-Levitt Gatchamen (G Force) - Cast thus far: Nicolas Cage ... Speckles (voice) Will Arnett Kelli Garner ... Marcie Penélope Cruz ... Juarez (voice) Steve Buscemi ... Bucky (voice) Bill Nighy No updates on Monster and Ghost in the Shell

Cowboy Bebop would be another one easily adapted into live action
but as for which actor/actress playing each chracter thats another question.

Cowboy Bebop does have the kind of drama that would make a decent movie. Lupin The 3rd seems like it would be fun to look at too.

It can't. That is if we're talkin 'bout American studios turnin Japanese cartoons into American live action films.
