Today I got in a car accident. I was stopped in front of my neighborhood so I could turn left in. As I was stopped there someone ran right into me from behind. I then swerved into the grass on the other side of the street. I was soo lucky that there were no cars coming in the other direction. I can just say that it would have been really really bad if there were. So now I don't have a car anymore. Only the back looks bad, but it appears that there is damage throughout the car. Now, I'm trying to find another car. If you guys know anything, I would appreciate it. I'm really needing a good cheap car.

Being totalled is annoying, especially when you have an older vehicle and they total it instantly. At least you're safe. Have you tried craigslist?

I will take a look on there. We are looking just about everywhere now. My first car I miss it already.

I know, I know. I'm looking at a car tomorrow, or today I should say. It is a 1995 Honda Accord for $2500. It has dents, but it only had one real minor problem. The dealer said that he could sell it for $2000. To repair the problem it will cost about $500, so it would end up costing the original price. Hopefully I can get something soon. I rather not have to borrow my Dad's truck forever, even though it is pretty nice.

What are your opinions on these two cars? 2000 Dodge Stratus
2000 Toyota CelicaThose prices seem too good to be true. I'm thinking that there might be engine problems at those prices.

The Toyota looks good, but it is cheap, it's best to see the mileage and the number of owners. Find out if it has been in any wrecks, etc. It is probably a stick shift, do you know how to drive one? How did the Honda go?

The Dodge didn't look too great. We passed on that one. My dad talked to the dealer selling the Celica, and they were jerks. We stayed away from that place. BTW I don't think the car pictured is the real car. The car they are advertising is a 2000, but the car says 02 on the windshield. The Honda was sold before we got there. I'm going to check by a used car place near my house tomorrow morning. They had a nice Nissan, but the place was already closed. edit: I found my car! It is a 1999 Toyota Camry. We found it at Joey's Auto Sales (doesn't seem to be Firefox compatible). It isn't listed on the website because it wasn't ready when we went there. It was in the back of the place, and didn't have an engine. He told about the engine, which he says has probably 80,000 miles on it, and has a 6 month warranty (this awesome because it is hard to find any kind of warranty on a used car at a used car place). We asked if it would be okay if our mechanic looked at it, and he said that he recommends it. He is really nice, and honest. Plus, he was recommended to us. So, this is probably going to be the car I'm going to get. Woohoo!

Well, my dad said that they were extremely pushy. He called to see if they had advertised. They told him no, but they tried to get him to come down anyway, and they just weren't polite.
I pretty much had to get a used car. None of us really have the money for a new car at the moment.

Holy crap a ton of stuff happened like right when I left apparently.
A. Did you try to get compensation from the dude who hit you? B. That rocks that you got a new one. How are the speakers in there? I bet those are a very redeeming feature.

We got a check for $2100 from the insurance company. Which is about right. I got the car for $1800 and we put about $300 of stuff into it. What gets me mad is that the car had a new battery, tires, and a full tank of gas. I haven't tried the speakers yet. The car doesn't even have an engine yet. The engine is coming Monday, and the mechanics are going to put it in. The guy who owned the place is going to fix some of the paint. The speakers should be better than my other car. It is the same model, but 8 years newer. Sense it is so much newer, I would bet that the tech in it would have improved some. I did check and it does have a CD player in it. I can't do those hour long trips without some good music. To get an idea of what it looks like it looks like this: Just picture that with a sunroof, and that is a pretty close match.

You shouldn't really have to try, it's the law unless it was a very minor accident and you chose to settle.

There is another used car dealer close to me, and they really like tricking people. If you go on their website, all their cars have the same description. They have a ton of nice cars on there for around $3,000, but they didn't have anything that cheap at the actual place. Most of their cars were around $15,000 but there was like only one car at that price on the website.

On the plus side, at least your search is done.

Yep. I was going to get the car tomorrow, but I can't. The previous owner still hasn't brought the title in. The battery on her wheelchair died, so she had to buy a new $200 battery, and couldn't bring it in. The owner of the car dealer is going to drive her to the title place (I don't think she has a car), so is a pretty nice guy.
