and compare it to the Japanese voice acting...
Personally I like the dub, but the Japanese voice actors probably did a better job.

The actors generally do a better job the first time around, but I can do the dub as well. However some of the original voice acting is really bad sometimes.

IndigNAYshun!!! ... yeah, IMO Shin Chan had the best dubs ever. But sometimes, I wish they just did an official subtitling for Tales of Phantasia, instead of dubbing everything. The english voices for the main characters lacked energy, big time, especially in battle.

Well, I don't actually own the English copy of the game, so the battle system is a lot of fun for me. But David has the english version and I played that. All the battle yells and screams basically turned into really dull voice overs. If it's one thing that the English voice actors lack, it's energy.
I would seriously play that game two times through if I could get all the text in English, and have all the Japanese voice acting from the ps1 version. That would be fantastic.
