Hi guys, you might have noticed this board's particular policy on off-topic discussion: we seem to drive it into the ground every time it's mentioned, crushing everything in its path. This isn't necessary. People are going to make off-topic posts and others will condemn them for it, that's fine, but when that exchange of "stay on topic" "no u" goes on for more than a couple of posts, it kind of ruins the point of staying on topic in the first place. It doesn't help when we start playing the blame game either, as seen in the below thread: thacmaster.proboards50.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=compdiscussion&thread=829&page=1My "undying gratitude" to those who did commit some actual discussion to the original topic, even if it was after the point. However, as a general advisory, if you do plan to make off-topic posts in the future, be sure to include something that's on-topic in the same post as well. This way we can avoid incident as us elitist on-topic types will be satisfied and have something to reply to as well as having your sinful tendencies to go off-topic cooled. And if you really can't think of anything to add to the original topic yet are dying to comment on what someone else said, just take it to PM or something. Don't be all cute about any of this either. Thank you for your comprehension and happy internet trails you rotten communists!

For future reference, I will henceforth use the word scumbag(s)* to refer to this thread. Please do not force me to invoke this term often.
*This meaning both the plural and singular forms.
Thank you again!

That's a good point. I think we should all make an on topic point if we plan to go off topic.
