He has a job, so I'm sure he had a decent amount of money to buy a present for his presents. Heck, he could've just bought them some snacks.

If I bought a present for every present I bought and I have an infinite amount of money, would I ever run out of money?

Hmmm...a conundrum. Would you have more presents or more money?

Another pet peeve I have is when people smoke in front and/or near the entrance of a building. Out of all the places that the person could go to light up a cigarette, he/she decides to pick the spot next to the door so that all the people coming in or going out the building could get a whiff of it. Also, some of that smoke would go inside the building whenever the doors open, so it's a hazard for the people who're inside the building and outside the building.

That is very rude, but I can't stand here and say I have never done it. I have and often...Truth is, you don't always think when you wanna smoke.

You're not the only one. I'm just glad none of my friends smoke because I hate the smell. That is very rude, but I can't stand here and say I have never done it. I have and often...Truth is, you don't always think when you wanna smoke. Well, you shouldn't be smoking in the first place. There's no point in slowly damaging your internal organs with harmful chemicals and whatnot.

ALAN U SMOAK!!?!? U GONNA DIE!11!!!!
Honestly, I don't like being around smoke myself. But it's his choice. And for the record, I do believe quitting takes mucho cahones and determination. You can't just say, oh hey, you should go do 12 step or whatever, or chew some nicorette, blah blah blah. Anyways I don't think it's a big deal as long as you don't do it too much.

Yea, people can do what they want, but I don't like it either. My brother does, and Andrew did, but he quit. It isn't impossible, but it takes dedication. It depends on if the person if really wants to do it they can. My step-grandmother did it and she was on an oxygen and didn't stop so things became dramatically worse for her. Then you have those who continue. I think if the stakes are high enough most will. What gets me is the phenomena for starting. Most hate the taste of cigs and alcohol initially, yet they keep doing it until they like it.... weird.

I'd imagine it's similar to spicy food. It hurts to eat but it produces a subtle euphoria, which causes you to come crawling back. Except with cigs or alcohol, the euphoria is not-so-subtle. Otherwise it's all neuroscience stuff that's just way over my head.

Otherwise it's all neuroscience stuff that's just way over my head. But these people hack and wheeze and literally hate it, there isn't a reason to do it again. Now there are acquired tastes, like dark chocolate. But it's damaging to you. Now alcohol when people drink socially that is different. Yes cigarettes are addictive and all, but the process just gets me for many.

Sure, spicy foods are also very painful to eat sometimes, in fact they really can burn you. My sister burned her lip on a fresh jalapeno one time. So in a way, the stuff is bad for you. I love jalapenos. My mouth hates them, but I really like them, seriously. I know you like spicy food too. Ask yourself, do you like it because it's spicy, or the euphoria it gives you? Really.

Well hey, that's like candy too, or many things in excess, but they don't have the long damaging effects to the people using them *or others around them* to warrant as much responsibility. I myself like spicy stuff, but I like flavor too, not just the actual upbringing sensation if that makes sense.

Yeah, that makes sense. But now that we have crossed the line and started comparing cigarettes with candy, we should probably change the subject.

Spicy and sour are pains, not actual tastes, if I recall. Sometimes I just like to eat mexican food and sushi without hot sauce or wasabi. I like to taste the food behind the condiment. But most of the time I use hot sauce/wasabi to clear my sinuses. Alcohol is great. I just feel good when I drink. I get way more sociable too and can just go up and start talking to anyone. But as C-Daddy said, socially is the only way to drink. Alone just sounds so lame.

I know smoking could "kill me". But the "urge" is just so strong sometimes. Dja Masta is right in what he says, it's hard to quit but I think I can if I really tried. I just aint got no "motivation" and my surrounding make it impossible.
