OK, well when Obi Wan and Qui Gon wee confronted by driodekas, what did they do? They ran. Why? Why not force push them away? That would have been my first play.
the Force (force push) cannot penetrate the droidekas shields, this is why they ran.

TBH I also do not think they ran because of that. I remember the scene, was more of a PIS. Besides, those forcefields aren't magic. We dont know if they're anything alike and what will happen. But wizards got other way of defending themselvs against force push/chocke anyway.
