Towards the end of the latest Saikyo blog post, Ayano gives off a strong hint, mentioning when and where the final character for Ultra Street Fighter 4 will be announced, and while not outright stating it's at Final Round 17, he very strongly hints it. Hit the jump for the beta test opinions, as well as Ayano's remark regarding the final piece of missing information regarding Ultra Street Fighter 4.
After wrapping up the Beta location tests fully, here are the current opinions Capcom has received regarding the Ultra Street Fighter 4 characters. They appear quite a bit lower than the last Beta location test evaluations."Who do you think she'll be?

Yeah, saw it on another site. Capcom gets lazier and lazier every year lol. It's because they can. It wasn't a surprise they did it though, it just baffles me they took a *year* to make it. You can make a new game in that time.

They've become so slow with triple A development time. Western companies are so much faster over all.

Yea. The biggest issue was the amount of hype they gave the new character; led people to believe it would be something developed from the ground up. It's not a bad character, but the hype and development time is unacceptable. I'm becoming more and more disenfranchised with SF. They said they won't make a new SF until before 2019, why so long? I'm starting to think it's because they can't. Meanwhile New MK is on it's way.

Capcom is having budget problems and is simply milking the franchise to be honest. Did you like Injustice?

Injustice is pretty good. I like the variety of playstyles that NRS makes with their characters. Like the way Superman zones or Zatanna. In Mk they had characters like Kenshi, it feels like they're trying to be original unlike Capcom.
Yeah, Capcom is going under. I saw this coming since 2008 with all the outsourcing and all their star developers leaving them.

I would like if they toned down the man face a bit on the female characters though. I'm also glad they diversified the ninjas over the years instead of having them as pallette swaps. There are many "different" gameplay elements that are amusing to me. Cool all around. Yea, Capcom didn't "make" SF4 themselves, and they've had quite a bit of new staff over the years, Capcom is in deep troubles. Many companies are struggling now.

Yeah, there are no swaps in MK9 at all. Same with injustice. No two characters play alike. That's really amazing, I remember when Kenshi was just a re-skinned ermac. Now look at him. That's how it is. I honestly think the western market is gonna make some acquisitions and buy some japanese developers at this point. When that happens it's game over. I've been feeling this for years. Capcom can't make anything in-house anymore minus RE6 which took 500 people to make and is there biggest in-house game ever. A company like ubisoft can get close to 1000 people to develop Asscreed every year.

Should get someone else to do it. It could happen, but many things Japan makes the west don't really buy so it might not happen right away. It's a shame they spent that manpower on RE6 for people to hate it, but it does happen.

I mean't just the triple A developers like Capcom. Most of the market in japan is galapogized to shit minus the Metal Gear Solids, Street Fighters or Resident Evils.
I think Japan is gonna cal it quits on triple A games. They already complain about the cost so much now. High end games they do make are mostly for westerners anyway. Handhelds are more popular than consoles in Japan anyway.

Handhelds are more popular than consoles in Japan anyway. I think many companies are going the route of small digital handheld games. It's low cost and very popular amongst casuals. Hell Peter Schiff was talking about how these games are valued at billions on the stock market, even when they are just a fad. I think console gaming is going to die down a lot. You'll see handheld fast stuff, and a lot of big stuff on actual PC's. Just my vibe on it.

Well yeah, we had that discussion about the future of console games. But, if that happens it will be even worst. Japan hasn't done shit with PC even with ports [which suck]. Many western companies came out of PC gaming. If consoles die then Game Over scnerio is more likely.

Many western companies came out of PC gaming. If consoles die then Game Over scnerio is more likely. I don't think many companies have come out of it, I don't think most companies go in, the console base is the largest market and is easy to cater for, on the other hand you can make games cheaply on pc and update them cheaply as well and wouldn't have to worry about console exclusives. It would never be game over for gaming in general, it would just shift to different formats. PC will always have games on it as it doesn't rely on gaming, it is primarily used for other things. Our consoles are becoming more and more like low end PC's and are jumping up in price. I think you'll slowly see more on the PC market. Japan is very much arcade/console due to the nature of their population and how gaming works there. It really varies across cultures.

But, what I'm saying is with games getting budgets like hollywood movies. Irrespective of the format [console or pc] whem high budget games. The balls in our court now. Look how fast the west can drop a triple A title vs Japan. Plus budgets are getting bigger and bigger. I just think that someday Street Fighter or Metal Gear will be owned by EA or something lol.

Ok, you're talking about the cost of gaming. Well in that regard they have to make a profit. Many of these companies are losing money due to these big budgets. That said there's a market for both. For instance the PC is a very popular platform for small independent developers. I like to have a mixture of things.

Yeah, I was mainly talking about triple A developers and big companies. Small companies will be fine. But the big 5: Nintendo, Sega, Capcom, Konami, Squareenix are imo gonna get bought out by western companies soon.

These American companies have their expensive failures too.

It seems like many companies are just sticking with what's safe, instead of doing original stuff because of the cost.

The industry just needs a new big game developer. Maybe the current talent pool isn't good enough. I mean they're getting enough money, how else can they blow so much on voice acting and set pieces.

Lots of investors and shareholders, the problem is even with high sales, the production costs are outweighing the returns, especially in this economy. I think fast and cheap is the way to go for the average person.

Count how many things they recycled in this game. Oh Capcom.
