Gameplay is always first, but women play games like DoA and Soul Calibur more. If a game can look good and play well, why not have both? Besides the women in SF have always had these traits, though I will say they've amped it up. Kof has actually tamer fanservice at this point. Did you know that Blue Mary was topless in an old game at one spot?

LOL An SJW Game? Imagine this: Street Fighter V: SJW Edition. Now for SFIV and SFV comparisons. Capcom has definitely come a long way. And, to think that Capcom was once on my hit list of companies to avoid buying video games from. SFxT didn't necessarily do much to help either. And, by the time SFxT2013 rolled around, the higher ups at Capcom (presumably) started to see the recurring problems within SFIV and they attempted to fix them with UFSIV which they did to some extent but... SFV got the green light, and now we have a breathe of fresh air. A lot of strange elements in both game play and even character design choices are gradually... "fazing" out.

1 frame links for example.
The strangely high reversal windows on wake up.
The premise of FADC (which frankly were considered to be an awkward variation of the Roman Cancel that you would see on Guilty Gear).
Focus Attacks in general, because the caused a lot of funky situations in the neutral.
Hard knockdown / Set-play scenarios
Damage output gradually lowering universally for multiple characters over the SFIV iterations. Even I remember the crazy damage output from Vanilla SFIV (*cough* Sagat *cough* Balrog *cough* Ryu). This is coming from a KOF player...

My experience with SFIV in general is somewhat limited as I've only played in... two tournaments. That's not necessarily enough for me to complete judge the game but I do know what I said above were recurring elements that lead to the game play being awkward.
SFV is... pretty much crushing SFIV right now in terms of both presentation and in game play. Smarter game play is generally far more rewarding than it was in SFIV. The general approach towards the characters (both move sets and design) in SFV are very well done for the most part. Plus, we have a new character known as Necalli which is definitely not so bad (To be honest, I am indifferent towards the character but objectively he still looks cool... if not a little bit DBZ-isk which may or may not be a bad thing. Depends on ones point of view). WE recently got R. Mika which... pretty much guarantees the fact that "I" am going to play this game. Now we have alternate costumes, announced very recently as well.

This is... like quite a few step ups from what SFIV was. This is something that players should theoretically be thrilled about in general.

I debate on whether it's personal or if it's just jumping on the bandwagon. Where were these clowns in the past when this stuff was the norm in fighting games? It makes me wonder why they don't just play something else.

Yes SFIV had a lot of bad design choices. Crouch teching, high reversal windows, terrible blockstun, garbage damage (SF2 had high damage but it was more honest in most aspects, SF4 Vanilla had high damage from dumb situations). Kof XIII has had higher damage in older games, but the HD custom combos being the source of high damage was a main fault of KOf XIII. I'd rather have it come from normal gameplay than touch-of-death gimmicks. Hopefully they never do it again.

People are overall satisfied, but there are some of the usual "the sky is falling" types who say everything is terrible, not realizing that it's a beta and they're testing things. The whole point is seeing what works. It already looks better than 4 but there are some things I would prefer change, such as having some more block stun for one.

Then again they might not want SF5 to be "mash light fighter" like SF4 was.

I didn't notice before but I guess they changed Cammys face. I felt like her face was fine before but they changed it to make her more "adorable." I wish they would fix characters hair....I mean focus on making the game solid.

They fixed her face before so it wouldn't look like a boys. I'm not sure if the "adorable" part is a costume thing, but the models are definitely getting tweaked. Chun Li's face has changed too. The hair definitely needs work.

I hear they're saying it's too low overall, they were also complaining about pressure options. I'll have to see how it develops.

I like that they improved her face. I'll have to see it in the default costumes. I can't tell in the new costume. The models are all going to be updated throughout the beta though.

Gamefaqs is such a cancerous website for game conversations. It is too damn easy to spot scrubby behavior on that website. Next thing you know, these guys could be talking about how Sonic the Hedgehog should be in SFV as asinine as that sounds. Not even Sirlin will help them understand the nature of competitive fighting games. And, as for those notions about females generally being turned into men? Why have women in fighting games to begin with? It is little things like this that cause me to dislike a lot of the Western fighting game community (and/or gaming communities in general). There are some people there with a brain, but mostly morons who don't even understand anatomy (the amount of people saying women pee out of their vaginas on there is disturbing). This is the problem with large sites like this. Too many morons have access which is why I try very hard to keep them off of this site. Thankfully we've had almost none here.

Trust me bro, ALL communities are like this in large numbers. Politics, religion, gaming, money, etc. People become fanatical and refuse to use logic and just rely on feel good arguments which is very irritating.

They argue realism in a fantasy game where women wouldn't be there fighting men twice their size anyways. They just want to have their cake and eat it too. They seem to be into these androgynous style "women" who have very little curves and strong facial features with short hair, ala Mortal Kombat X. I think the 90's were better because gaming was aimed at a smaller audience and the quality showed. You had some games they complained about (Mortal Kombat for violence and Duke Nukem because of "killing strippers" (which punished you if you did that), but overall they left us alone and we had great quality.

In some ways we've advanced when it comes to technology and some of the boundaries we've been allowed to cross, but we've also lost quality and given in to these morons a little too much.

It's disturbing because I see so many "men" arguing this crap now. It used to be just women, but desperate beta males who want to get laid badly are right in tow. That and many western men are just pussified in this countries, especially white men who are told they are bad. Look at Adam Sessler. He used to be cool, but now he's a bleeding mangina and a sellout.

That's a great policy. Otherwise you get into drawn out arguments about nonsense. Nothing worse than being fed up for dummies. This website takes enough time. I just post articles and get feedback while designing stuff. I have better things to do with my time and energy like build wealth or pursue some other interest.

People do what's in their own self interest. Losers want free stuff. Towards the summer of last year in 2014, I made a note to myself to stay silent about different subjects on many forums such as SRK for example. I tend to stick around on Dream Cancel... partially because I am a staff member there (gotta edit stuff and keep character knowledge flowing). Even then, I made a note to myself to note participate in too many conversations that take place. I'd rather look at something, think about it for a moment and then make a educated conjecture or a statement after having been exposed to it long enough. It would also be wise to be careful "how" one would say things on a forum as well, even if you mean absolutely no harm (which is often the case anyway).
Because, people on these forums have this odd tendency to exaggerate other people's thought processing, patronize each other, make a big deal out of nothing.
I'm not necessarily that fond of the Western fighting game community in particular. There is also a good reason why players from different countries (Asian countries for instance) tend to place so much at our own tournaments with characters that the Western audience tend to completely ignore
Example, people generally thought that Urien from 3S was a bad character... and then Tokido came tore everyone up. Then, there was Poongko who is constantly on a role with Seth, whom also often ignored... until he came and started smashing people with him. Then there is Xian who... won EVO2013 with Gen (yes, GEN... a character whom was considered low tier. Insult to injury, many of his other opponents were using characters that were considered top tier at the time)! There is also Duo Lon from KOFXIII (one of the first characters I picked up because I thought he was cool as fuck)! He made it to EVO2012. Despite Duo Lon being particularly low tier, people STILL keep placing in tournaments (Hell, I placed in my own local scene in Germany with Terry AND Mai, both whom are not very strong in XIII). Then again, by the time 2014 rolled around, almost every character has placed in top 3 at SOME point in its time line so far.

Ugh... there are so many other cases that I could name. Have you guys seen the tier list of DOA5LR at Eventhubs? Those you who play DOA5LR consistently will LAUGH YOUR ASS' OFF!

I have perfect motivation for playing a character such as R. Mika in SFV. Pretty much everything I need to get a point across to any other player if I should ever go to a tournament.
(I will eventually practice with every other character to be granted some familiarity... I want to understand the psychology of a player when they pick a certain character). I would love to hear some SJW / Feminazi say something... they can kiss R. Mika's ass (Literally and metaphorically. Because, she DOES have a... very... beautiful... ass. And, she will not hesitate to use it).

Yea it takes a lot of discipline to post at these sites. Dreamcancel is smaller so it doesn't have as much idiocy and it seems to be pretty neat when it's active, and I'm sure you contribute tons of info. SRK is something serious. People just have random fights for no reason and most of them are just trying to be smart and then they call pros morons as well while crying the sky is falling. I've read their comments on SFV from that link you posted and they don't seem to understand it's a beta. Yea you want to leave CONSTRUCTIVE feedback that sounds smart. They just make it seem like the sky is falling with every change without looking at the big picture.


Believe me I had tons of complaints about games in the past, and developers like me because I put it out intelligently and provide proof through videos and data without being insulting. I end up arguing with forum dumbasses on games because they tell me I'm wrong without knowing what they're talking about. I hate that. Even on games I like for instance Twisted Metal PS3 I made videos cataloging all of the problems in there to help the game. Most people let their ego and bias get in the way. Sites for smaller games like Virtua Fighter have EXCELLENT sites with knowledgeable people because they're not populated with the idiots of the "mainstream" games. Americans just like to jump on the latest bandwagon. Eventhubs shows why Democracy is bad. A bunch of morons voting on tiers who haven't played the game and don't understand matchups. These tier lists are pointless. I think Daigo was better when he just stuck with Ryu personally. Some play better with multiples and some just know a certain playstyle. I too will be using Mika and I hope the remaining characters are going to be great. Hopefully no more SF2's.

Wait a minute. I'm also starting to notice something else. I often go on Tekken streams on Twitch. There are many MANY (supposedly) competitive Tekken players constantly hanging around. Every time a particularly attractive female character is on show case (Jaycee for example)... I hardly see players getting excited.
When a character is on showcase like Feng or Miguel for example, you tend to notice a lot of "Kreygasm" emotes. Aaaaand, it is not necessarily because the characters are just good either (note: Both of the characters are high/high mid tiers as of Tekken Tag Tournament 2)... but the majority of these players that I constantly see on the Tekken streams are MALES (no, I have nothing against homosexuality. It's just that, these particular groups on the stream showcase A LOT of disdain towards sexy female characters (hint; don't EVER mention DOA on a Tekken stream. And, also... if you so much as mention anything about the emphasis on Asuka's chest, female character swimsuits, etc... people tend to get rather... pissed).
There is also this one particular player who believes that ever female in the game has "the same body shape."
There are SOOOOOOOO many ways to disprove that and to call him out on that bullshit.

A lot of the player-based in general... are still males for the most part (no, there are plenty of females playing the video games but not quite as many as the males... insult to injury, the majority of the said female players that actually do play video games don't even MENTION anything about the sexy hot females and the like. Many of them seem to ENJOY IT, based on one of EX girlfriends whom was American... keep this in mind).
Why is it okay for Ryu to walk around shirtless while people CRUCIFY a character such as R. Mika or Chun Li for so much as showing so much as a small part of their own skin? This Western FGC has become waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too over sensitive over shit that isn't even worth making a big deal about.

I've noticed this too. They have some fanatical obsession with keeping women clothed. Even funnier is that poison is VERY sexual and suggestive and I've *never* heard a complaint. So when trannies do it, then it's ok? Just makes no sense to me.
You can't even mention a female character without it getting into some argument, it's insane. I don't EVER see real life women complaining about this and I know many and a good number play some games. That said girls tend to play more cellphone and casual games, but still.

These guys want to make women like men, and what straight male would want to do that. It's like the fashion industry where gay men make women look like little boys.

Do we just have a bunch of gay men and ugly bitter women who want male attention and do this? Why hijack gaming? They've already gone into movies and comics. There's nowhere for us straight men to go.

Then there is Xian who... won EVO2013 with Gen (yes, GEN... a character whom was considered low tier. Insult to injury, many of his other opponents were using characters that were considered top tier at the time)! There is also Duo Lon from KOFXIII (one of the first characters I picked up because I thought he was cool as fuck)! He made it to EVO2012. Despite Duo Lon being particularly low tier, people STILL keep placing in tournaments (Hell, I placed in my own local scene in Germany with Terry AND Mai, both whom are not very strong in XIII). Then again, by the time 2014 rolled around, almost every character has placed in top 3 at SOME point in its time line so far.

Ugh... there are so many other cases that I could name. Have you guys seen the tier list of DOA5LR at Eventhubs? Those you who play DOA5LR consistently will LAUGH YOUR ASS' OFF!

I have perfect motivation for playing a character such as R. Mika in SFV. Pretty much everything I need to get a point across to any other player if I should ever go to a tournament.
(I will eventually practice with every other character to be granted some familiarity... I want to understand the psychology of a player when they pick a certain character). I would love to hear some SJW / Feminazi say something... they can kiss R. Mika's ass (Literally and metaphorically. Because, she DOES have a... very... beautiful... ass. And, she will not hesitate to use it).

Yeah, japanese tend to have more character diversity. Nothing illustrates this like Us vs Japan in ST way back in 2000. Us players just kept picking O.Sagat while Japanese choose chuns, kens, guile and so on. Don't get me started on 3S. Jpanese 3s is low tier domination all day. Hell, Kuroda raped j wongs chun with Q who is shit tier.

Between the tier whoring and now Sjw nonesense is why I hate the western scene. Don't get me started on poseurs and pseudoelitism.

Well it also depends on the skill gap between the players. Japanese players are also more advanced than US players and therefore can win with lower tier characters. Tiers come into play when both sides are completely equal.

High damage off of a stomp is nice. Also that Mika quote was just a way of saying her children in the future. Hence why she said "someday". She was pretty young in Alpha.
