Iori gets the most damage. Same as xiii he can dash close C, stand D max mode, and even CD combos. Iori's grab is probably slower though I'm not really sure. I think Angels cmd grab counts as 1 of her 2 launchers she can use in a combo so it does limit it a little bit. Ex version lets you do 2 launchers. Edit : Nevermind its a limit on air juggle I think. Its really confusing trying to figure out why certain things don't work with her

Zoning with fireballs is decent. I'd say zoning with normals in now more effective imo I also think neutral hopping is a lot better now. It can be a pretty lame game though. Time out are more common against certain characters. That was super rare in xiii
Yeah sometimes they are necessary. Mature comes to mind. If its anchor anchor and you dont have meter vs her its tough. You lose in every situation against her except in the corner. Shes one of the reasons I picked up a character with a counter super.

King of Fighters 14 heading for arcades
An announcement was made at Toushinsai today, after the tournament festivities was over.
Toushinsai is an arcade-only event, and as such had tournaments in Ultra Street Fighter 4 and King of Fighters 13, which naturally felt a bit out of place since both series have just had new games released this year. Thankfully, both series' developers (SF & KOF) were at hand to announce that come next year, they can play the newest version, since both of the games are coming to arcades.
King of Fighters 14 will be on the NESICAxLIVE 2 system.
Considering the impact the arcade community has on Japan's players, this is definitely good news all around for both the King of Fighters and Street Fighter communities.

The King of Fighters XIV version 1.03 balance patch is now available to download
While the game is still young, several characters including Nakoruru, K’, Love Heart, Mai, Mature and Athena have been clear standouts during the game’s early months.
This patch will be game version 1.03, following a day one balance patch and an update focused on the game’s netcode. With a cast of more than 40 characters, the community will have to wait and see how SNK chooses to create parity between them.

The King of Fighters XIV Patch 1.04 Focuses on Online and Bug Fixes
While The King of Fighters XIV recently got a massive update, that hasn’t stopped SNK from doing further work on the game. As such, a new patch–bringing the game up to version 1.04–has just been released.
Unlike the previous patch which was focused mostly on balance fixes for the cast, this one is mostly to address various minor bugs and issues. The biggest of these would be fixes to the game’s online, both in getting room information during matchmaking as well as the actual online play quality. Other fixes include a fix to a bug that affected story mode after beating Antonov with certain teams, as well as some minor text fixes.
As for the characters, any character-specific fixes are mostly to address glitches that the last patch failed to correct. This includes fixes to a number of moves on certain characters that changed their hitboxes when pressing away or towards. Other character-specific changes include things that could affect balance, such as K’ no longer able to perform an air Minute Spike after a whiffed air blow back, making Antonov’s President Lift inescapable, and more.
You can check out the complete list of changes here.

The King of Fighters XIV’s Nightmare Geese DLC Costume Now Available on PlayStation Store
The announcement of Nightmare Geese a few months back was met with hype and anticipation; the DLC outfit was available to those who pre-ordered the game, along with the Classic Kyo costume, but it has just been announced that this skin is now available on the PlayStation Store for everyone, for the low price of $1.99.

Chinese Premium Edition of The King of Fighters XIV May Be Gettting a Classic Iori Skin
A Chinese language version of The King of Fighters XIV is coming out later this month. With the country being a major market for the series, as well as the home of SNK’s new owners, Ledo Millenium, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that the country is getting a special premium edition. What’s interesting however is that this version may be getting something that other regions don’t have.
Based on an image supposedly released by the game’s Chinese distributor Gamepoch, The King of Fighters XIV’s Chinese Premium Edition will come with an exclusive classic costume for Iori Yagami. The image was spotted in a KoF chat group and was shared on the web by Twitter user Tox.
The other items included in the premium edition seem to be the same one in the Premium Editions for the rest of the world: a steel book, 3-disc soundtrack, and a premium art book.
Whether or not the Classic Iori skin will be made available for purchase in other regions is as of yet unknown. However, it is likely considering that the pre-order exclusive Classic Kyo and Nightmare Geese skins were later made available for purchase.

New The King of Fighters XIV Chinese Premium Edition Details Hint That DLC Costumes Are Coming in December
Gamepoch has dropped details on the upcoming Premium Edition for the traditional Chinese version of The King of Fighters XIV onto their Weibo page. While these are mostly the same details that we already reported on some time back, there is some new information that might excite players from the rest of the world.
One of the details revealed is that the game–at least in China–will be getting DLC costumes each month starting in December. These costumes will be free for those who purchase the Premium Edition, and purchasable for those who bought the regular edition.
Now whether or not these are the same costumes that have already been released for the rest of the world (Classic Kyo and Nightmare Geese) alongside the Classic Iori, or if they are new costumes for the rest of the cast, is as of yet unknown.

Get Your First Look at The King of Fighters XIV’s Classic Iori DLC Skin
Earlier this month we reported on a potential Classic Iori skin being spotted on the Chinese version of the game. As was hinted by the art on the disc, Classic Iori is available, and some players already have their hands on him. The Chinese version of the game was released today, and footage of Classic Iori is now surfacing.
While this skin is currently exclusive to Chinese copies of the game, the costume may become available worldwide, as was the case with Classic Kyo and Nightmare Geese. There was also news of more DLC being available for Chinese games in the coming months–but there is no word on whether those are the DLC outfits we already have, or something new.

Iori is a fan favorite. It's always good to see content with him on it.

SNK Announces The King of Fighters XIV Esports Support Program
SNK’s The King of Fighters XIV has seen quite a lot of tournament play since its release. The latest iteration of the franchise has seen tournaments at multiple events, such as SEA Major, SoCal Regionals and Canada Cup, something bolstered by SNK’s own The King of Fighters XIV World Championship, of which the events have been qualifiers for. That said, it seems that SNK wants to grow this even further.
SNK has just announced their “King of Fighters XIV e-Sports Support Program.” The program in question allows tournament organizers to apply to SNK for additional support such as prize pool bonuses, as well as a possible World Championship qualifier slot. The only limitations are that the event should be an offline tournament taking place before August 31, 2017 (or January 29, 2017, for those who want to become World Championship qualifiers), and have a minimum of 20 participants.
Tournaments are part of what keeps the competitive scene alive for any game. As such, it’s nice to see SNK stepping up to give further support these tournaments and events.

Two Free King of Fighters XIV Themes Available on European PlayStation Store
Deep Silver, the company responsible for bringing King of Fighters XIV to Europe, has just released two King of Fighters XIV PlayStation 4 themes that are currently exclusive to the European Playstation Store. One theme is an image of the members of Team South Town and Team Fatal Fury, and the other depicts the members of the South American Fighters Team.
Each theme includes two static images that decorate the home screen and the PlayStation store and have their own music, icons, and sound effects. You can check out stills of the themes applied to a console in the gallery below.
At the moment, the themes have not been released in North America, unlike the older Gal’s Fighters theme, that was launched back in August. It’s quite likely that they might appear in the near future, but if you can’t wait, you can download them with an European account and then use it for all the accounts on your PS4, as long as they are set as primary.

New King of Fighters XIV Version 1.10 Screenshots Hint at Just How Much the Game’s Graphics Are Improving
As you may already know, SNK announced that they would be adding graphical upgrades to King of Fighters XIV with update version 1.10. The update itself is set to be playable at the PlayStation Experience later this weekend.
To whet the appetites of those looking forward to the update, SNK has released a couple more teaser screenshots, showing Sylvie and Xanadu in the new build.
The great thing about these is that they’re similar to early promo that SNK put out early this year. This means that a direct comparison can be made, such as what Gatoray has done below.
Here, we can clearly see the updates to the game’s lighting system, most noticeably the improved self-shadowing on Sylvie and Xanadu. Additionally, there also seems to be changes to the way the engine handles transparent materials.
We’ll get to see more of KOFXIV’s graphical update at this weekend’s PlayStation Experience.
SNK Corporation Signals Its Switch Back to Old SNK Branding with a Nostalgic Teaser Video
At the beginning of November, SNK announced that they would ditch the SNK Playmore name and rebrand the company back to just SNK on December 1st. On November 30th the company uploaded a video to its official YouTube channel titled SNK CORPORATION – SOUND LOGO. The simple ten second clip contained a revamped version of a tune recognized by anyone who’s ever played a retro SNK title and a flourish of blue pixels that fades into text that reads SNK – The Future is Now.
The uploading and sharing of this clip, though a simple gesture, sparked praise in the YouTube comments as well as on the SNK Twitter and Facebook pages. Many are commenting on how the clip triggers nostalgia or how they are looking forward to what SNK has in store for next year.
SNK Releases New Trailer for King Of Fighters XIV Version 1.10, Update Releases in January 2017
Some more positive news coming out of the PlayStation Experience, as SNK releases a new trailer for King of Fighters XIV, debuting version 1.10. As previously hinted at by SNK, the update mainly revolves around improving KOF XIV’s visuals with a brand new lighting engine.
While we had only seen stills of these visuals upgrades before, this new trailer shows the extent of the improvements, showing characters like Kyo, Sylvie, Tung and several more in motion, with comparisons between the old and new lighting. The update is quite drastic when you see characters actually fighting and it’s great to see SNK is actively working to fix the most polarizing aspect of KOF XIV.
Alongside the improved visuals, this new update comes with additional character colors. Version 1.10 is set to launch in January 2017, as part of a free update to King of Fighters XIV.
