First of all, the standard PS4 and Xbox One offer a traditional gameplay environment that aims to return to the origins of horror games. Thanks to the new generation RE Engine used for the game, it’s possible to enjoy a great level of detail down to the dust floating in the air. “Massive” Update to Resident Evil 7 Demo Available
Resident Evil 7: Biohazard‘s final update to its playable teaser, titled “Midnight”, is available as a free download from the PlayStation Store for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 4 Pro, and PlayStation VR. Capcom announced the “massive” addition today during PlayStation Experience 2016 alongside a new trailer.
Originally, the “Kitchen” demo was the only PlayStation VR-playable Resident Evil 7 teaser and at the time, people only speculated that it was tied to a new game in the franchise. Since it’s announcement at this year’s E3, Resident Evil 7 has received two playable teaser sections.
Resident Evil 7 takes many cues from older entries in the series, with a focus on survival horror and inventory management, looking less like the action-oriented previous entry Resident Evil 6 and more like Hideo Kojima-san’s Playable Teaser, or PT, which debuted two years ago.

Resident Evil VII Demo Coming to Xbox One and PC Later This Month
The next chapter of the long-running Resident Evil series is on its way next month with the release of the highly-anticipated Resident Evil VII: Biohazard, and while PlayStation 4 owners have had the chance to experience the terror hands-on, Xbox One and PC players will soon get to experience the terror themselves as well.
In an update on the company’s blog, Capcom has announced that the demo for Resident Evil VII will be arriving for Xbox One on December 9th (Today), 2016 and PC on December 19th, 2016, giving players on those platforms their first chance at hands-on time with the game before its release at the end of January. Both platforms will feature the complete demo with all of its available updates, and PC users will also receive “PC-specific settings and graphics options to adjust to your liking” for experiencing the demo.
The Resident Evil VII demo originally released during this year’s E3 2016 to coincide with the announcement of the title, and since then has seen multiple updates and new content ahead of its impending release. The demo’s latest update was released during last weekend’s PlayStation Experience, and includes a first-look at the VR functionality with will be available first on Playstation VR at launch.

Three New Resident Evil 7 Gameplay Videos Released By Capcom; Traps and Jump Scares Galore
Capcom has released three new Resident Evil 7: Biohazard gameplay videos today, each showcasing the game’s varied settings, enemies, and scares.
The first sees the player fleeing through the corridors of the Baker, um, residence, as the villain fans have all come to know and love in the demo chases after us, occasionally ripping through walls in the process.
The second opens in an admittedly more well-to-do place, then quickly provides a brief glimpse at the mutated corpses the series is perhaps best known for.
The third video introduces flying hordes of bugs and a lever that allows the player to walk across a waterway of sorts. Of course, it ends in a big scare too.
Resident Evil 7‘s final “massive” update to its playable teaser, titled “Midnight”, released on the PlayStation Store for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 4 Pro, and PlayStation VR this past weekend during PlayStation Experience 2016 alongside a new trailer.

Capcom Aiming for 4 Million Day One Sales for Resident Evil 7; Preorder Numbers are “Very Good”
Speaking with MCV, publisher Capcom has revealed that it believes Resident Evil 7 will be its biggest launch on the current generation of hardware. Further, that it is currently aiming for four million day one sales of the game, citing strong preorder numbers as a reason for such a bullish goal.
EMEA marketing director for Capcom Antoine Molant said the following:
“Commercially, [Resident Evil 7] is probably the biggest Capcom game we are releasing on the new machines. Ideally, we’d love to sell 4m on Day One globally. That would be great. Looking at what we see in the pre-orders and trends these days, we’re pretty confident we are going to get there. All the signs that we have seen across the market, whether it’s from the UK or from other territories, are very positive so far. We’re not sitting back and relaxing at all because we want to push that. The confidence is there.” When specfically asked about the horror title’s pre order numbers, Molant gave a very straight forward reply:
“To be very frank, they’re very good.” He added:
“Keeping in mind the real pre-order campaign started a week ago with the Steelbook announcement and some of the Collectors’ Edition announcement… before doing that, they were quite above what we were expecting. We’ve got the previews coming out and some more launching in December. On that front, we’re very happy.”

Resident Evil VII: Biohazard Gets Creepy Commercial With a Lot of Screaming
Today Capcom released a TV Commercial of Resident Evil VII: Biohazard for the Japanese market (where the game is named Biohazard 7: Resident Evil finally bringing the two titles together).
The commercial is brief, but includes its fair share of jump scares (which of course aren’t as effective in 30 seconds), and a lot of screaming.

Do you think it feels more like the old school experience? The full game might, it has safe rooms and old RE 1 style inventory management. But, the demo still struck me as revelations.

Official Resident Evil 7 Candle Promises a “Foisty, Old Timber and Blood” Scent Capcom is really going all out with strange and goofy merchandise to promote Resident Evil 7. While the phallic USB drive that comes with the game’s collector’s edition is sure enough to turn heads, an official scented candle is now available via UK retailer Merchoid. The distributor poises the candle as a “4D candle,” meant to burn alongside you playing the game in PlayStation VR. I’m sure this won’t lead to players burning their houses down. According to Merchoid, the candle gives off a “foisty, old timber and blood” scent when lit and will burn for up to 20 hours. That’s more than enough time to power through the game in one sitting! While you don’t need PlayStation VR to enjoy this wonderful candle, the distributor says it’s mean to “fully immerse the player” when you’re exploring the Baker Family’s house. “The virtual reality experience is incredible, but we want to take you one step further than that,” said Merchoid’s community manager Jessica Adams. “While playing the game, imagine if you could smell everything you could see and hear. “The game becomes incredibly immersive as it tricks all your senses into thinking that you’re really there.” The candle is available via the Merchoid website, and is up for pre-order. Shipments are set to go out on January 20th, and it’s worth mentioning international shipping is free. www.merchoid.com/product/resident-evil-7-blood-sweat-and-fears-4d-vr-candle/Source: nichegamer

This Resident Evil VII: Biohazard Video Is Hilarious, Weird, and a Little Freaky
Capcom released the latest video of Resident Evil VII: Biohazard, and if you comment with "what the hell did I just say," we'll fully understand.
Capcom released a new video of Resident Evil VII: Biohazard, and it’s a fairly “special” one.
The video shows the game played by Nebaarukun, an unofficial mascot of the Japanese Ibaraki Prefecture themed after Natto, which is one of the relevant delicacies of the areas (and one of the most disgusting things ever, sorry friends from Ibaraki).
Of course, there’s comedy, there is weirdness, and it’s even a bit freaky.
You can check it out and judge for yourself below.

Famitsu’s Resident Evil VII: Biohazard Review Reveals Campaign Length
The latest addition to the Resident Evil franchise will take gamers roughly 15 hours to beat according to Famitsu's reviewers
Capcom’s upcoming horror game Resident Evil VII: Biohazard is around the corner and if Famitsu’s reviews are any indicator then it seems like it could be a runaway hit.
The game, according to Famitu’s reviewers, will feature a meaty 15 hour campaign which is packed to the brim with unnerving moments that are only heightened when experienced in VR:
“This latest instalment in the Resident Evil series adds an entirely new interactive horror element compared to previous games. The change between watching tapes found throughout the game and the actual game itself is seamless and really adds to the realism. The quality of the game increases when you put on the PlayStation VR!”
The really interesting thing about the reviews from Famitsu is the reaction towards the VR performance, Resident Evil VII could very well be the turning point in the AAA VR development space and will hopefully convince more developers to take the risk.

Capcom Has No Plans For Resident Evil VII: Biohazard On The Switch Resident Evil VII: Biohazard won't be coming to the Switch, at least not yet anyway. Capcom’s latest take on the Resident Evil franchise is a matter of days away and things are looking good so far…that is unless you’re hoping to play Resident Evil VII: Biohazard on Nintendo’s upcoming hybrid platform, the Switch. When asked about the possibility of Resident Evil VII: Biohazard appearing on the Switch the Game’s producer Masachika Kawata said: “I think it’s a very unique piece of hardware, I’m looking forward to the possibilities of the system itself, but we have no plans at the moment regarding Resident Evil on Switch.” Source: dualshockers

Resident Evil 7 Launches Today on PS VR, PS4, Xbox One, and PC; Launch Trailer Released
Today, Capcom’s highly anticipated horror game Resident Evil 7: Biohazard launches onto PS4 (with PlayStation VR support), PC, and Xbox One, both digitally, and at retail at the price point of $59.99 USD. Yup, that’s right, the series (which has sold over 71 million units worldwide to date) that first coined the “survival horror” term some twenty years ago is back.
The following overview of the game is provided:
Resident Evil 7 biohazard introduces players to Ethan Winters, who has been led to Dulvey, Louisiana in search of his missing wife. There he comes upon a sinister and supposedly abandoned plantation. Upon entering the property it becomes clear that there are secrets to unveil and all is not as it seems. Ethan soon encounters the mysterious Baker family, who have been missing from the area for some time. Will Ethan ever be reunited with his wife? Players will unfold all the secrets behind the mysterious plot as they embark on this truly terrifying and unpredictable survival horror experience. The first of this DLC will come shortly after launch and include Banned Footage Vol. 1 and Banned Footage Vol. 2, which will deliver two further scenarios and an extra bonus mode for players to dive into. Following this, an additional story episode, Not a Hero, will be released for free to all players in spring 2017, and will introduce players to a new separate storyline.
The Banned Footage Vol. 1 and Banned Footage Vol. 2 content, along with an additional downloadable story episode, can be obtained via the Season Pass and deluxe editions of the game. The DLC will also be available for purchase separately, with more details to be shared soon.

Resident Evil 7 Ships 2.5 Million, Series Tops 75 Million Capcom announced today that Resident Evil 7 biohazard has shipped 2.5 million copies since it launched earlier this week. Because of this, the Resident Evil franchise has officially sold 75 million units since its launch in 1996. This figure does not account for unsold physical stock or digital purchases, which is why it may look a bit small compared to Final Fantasy XV’s day one sales. nichegamer.com/2016/12/01/worldwide-shipments-for-final-fantasy-xv-break-5-million/Source: nichegamer
