The classics were really good and they had some fun aspects to them for sure. They lost their way later on though. Are they PS exclusive again?

So far based on the story I posted, Crash Bandicoot definitely exclusive to Playstation once again.

I figured I might have missed it. I do find it interesting that it's going back to PS exclusive though. I wonder what other franchises have gone from being exclusive to not to exclusive again.

Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy debut trailer, gameplay Activision unveiled the first trailer and gameplay for Crash Bandicoot: Insane Trilogy during the PlayStation Experience 2016 keynote. The 2017-due PlayStation 4 collection includes remakes of Crash Bandicoot, Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back, and Crash Bandicoot: Warped. Here’s Activision’s description of the game: Your favorite marsupial, Crash Bandicoot, is back! He’s enhanced, entranced & ready-to-dance with the N. Sane Trilogy game collection. Now you can experience Crash Bandicoot like never-before in Fur-K. Spin, jump, wump and repeat as you take on the epic challenges and adventures through the three games that started it all, Crash Bandicoot, Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back and Crash Bandicoot: Warped. Relive all your favorite Crash moments in their fully-remastered HD graphical glory and get ready to put some UMPH in your WUMP! And here’s the PlayStation Blog post detailing the game: It’s practically impossible to make a traditional remaster of the original Naughty Dog games. They’re roughly 20 years old, and technology has advanced significantly in that time. The original code and assets are nearly unusable. Nearly. But we don’t consider this a remake. We know how much you all love the original games, so we didn’t want to fully remake them. The N. Sane Trilogy is a remaster plus. The first step in our remaster plus was to truly understand what made the Naughty Dog games special and why fans still love them to this day. The best way to understand a game is to play it, and boy, did we play the Crash games. We played them to the point that we broke controllers from mashing the jump button too much. We studied original concept art and commercials for inspiration. And we went even further back to understand the material that originally inspired Naughty Dog, including Who Framed Roger Rabbit? and Looney Tunes. With all of that in mind, we started our work. Using the original level geometry from Naughty Dog as a guide, we rebuilt the Crash gameplay from scratch, capturing its simplicity and precision. As the levels began to take shape, we layered in our own lush and zany art, animation, and audio. Let’s see the results! Here are some work-in-progress examples of what to expect: Rebuilt levels, based on the original geometry Another beautiful day at N. Sanity Beach! Rebuilt characters, following the original designs Rebuilt cinematics, inspired by the originals Adding New Features Because this is a remaster plus, we have an opportunity to add features. Choosing new features is a difficult process. We consider numerous things, including the team’s ideas and fan requests, but perhaps our most important consideration is the evolution of the franchise itself. Naughty Dog learned a lot of lessons on how to refine the Crash formula over the course of making three games. So, the first new features we’ve worked on take the best of each of the games and apply them to all three. Here are some work-in-progress examples: Unified checkpointing & save game system. This includes manual and auto-saving. (Yes, the first game now has a proper save game system!) Unified menu system. Here an example of the Pause menu for Crash Bandicoot: Eagle-eyed readers will notice something special about this Pause Menu. Time Trials in all three games! These aren’t the only new features for the N. Sane Trilogy. However, that’s all we’re going to share for today. Source: gematsu

Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy Gets Four New Screenshots Showcasing Remastered Crash Bandicoot 2 Today, four new screenshots of Vicarious Visions’ Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy leaked online showing off the remastering work of Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back. For those that don’t know, Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy is not a new game from series developers Naughty Dog, but rather a “remaster plus” of the first three games in the series: Crash Bandicoot, Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back and Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped. You can read more about how Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy is not just your average remastering, here. As you can see in the screenshots below, a lot of work and love is being put into the remaster by Vicarious Visisons in order to do the iconic series justice. You can check them out for yourself at the bottom of the article. Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy is currently slated to release sometime in 2017 for PS4. It will cost $39.99 USD. Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy launches June 30
Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy will launch for PlayStation 4 on June 30, Activision announced.
The collection will be available for $39.99 and include remastered versions of Crash Bandicoot, Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back, and Crash Bandicoot Warped. It also adds new save and checkpoint systems, improved bonus levels and time trials, and a remastered soundtrack.
Over at the PlayStation Blog, developer Vicarious Visions posted a new Q&A:
Why did you wait until now to tell us the release date?
To torture you!
No, seriously, from our point of view it’s about being confident in a schedule that allows us to deliver on the quality of games we all want. We had to ensure everything’s aligned to deliver it smoothly. Sometimes it takes a bit of time to know these things.
— (Kara Massie, Producer)
What has changed from the original games in the environment art?
This is a great question and something that we’ve been working pretty hard on. The addition of real-time lighting in a PBR (Physically Based Rendering) engine, along with an increase in texture size, can sometimes make our environments look different than the originals.
Generally, while we strive to recreate each level so it looks and feels like the original, we also want to make sure that environments are fun, colorful, and read well in the fast-paced action with the addition of the new technology we are using.
— (Dustin King, Art Lead)
What’s been your favorite level to make art for and why?
I’ve enjoyed working on the prehistoric levels, and I found them to be a good case for reinterpretation. As I started working on them, I found that adding more greenery helped bring more of the earthy, prehistoric look that hearkens back to the illustrations in dinosaur books I loved as a kid. I also decided the path is more like shallow swamp water, since a tar pit would slow the player down.
I like the contrasting mix of familiar elements of earth, fire, water, and plants, and it has been fun trying to effectively blend these elements.
— (Aaron Trulson, Environment Artist)
My favorite level to work on was Future Frenzy. This level was jam packed with lights, signs, and all of these cool futuristic shapes. It was really fun making the city look alive, with all of the neon signs and the flashing lights. Getting the reflections on the buildings to look just right was a lot of work for the engineering team, but I’m really excited with how it turned out.
— (Jeffrey Lee, Environment Artist)
My favorite levels to make art for have been Deep Trouble and Under Pressure. These underwater levels are full of colorful and exotic sea plants that bring the whole environment to life. I wanted to give more depth to these levels, so look out for a fuller looking ocean.
— (Andrew Lee, Environment Artist)
Is The N. Sane Crash wearing shorts or jorts or jeans?
Wow, I actually had to look up ‘jorts’! Our version of Crash is wearing surfer shorts which we felt reads much closer to the shapes, colors, and forms in the original games, and is in line with the original concept art we started from that was provided to us by Sony. We feel it also speaks to his ‘90s era persona.
— (Dustin King, Art Lead)
Who are the Voice Actors?
Fred Tatasciore (Dingodile, Koala Kong, Komodo) Debi Derryberry (Coco, Tawna) Greg Eagles (Aku Aku) Dwight Schultz (Papu, Lab Assistant) Maurice LaMarche (Nitrous Brio, Lab Assistant) John DiMaggio (Uka, Tiny Tiger) Jess Harnell (Crash Bandicoot, Pinstripe Potoroo, Ripper Roo) Corey Burton (Doctor N. Gin, Doctor N. Tropy, Baby Cortex) Lex Lang (Dr. Neo Cortex) Why did you remake the soundtrack compositions, instead of reusing the originals?
We are recreating the original compositions to match the high-definition visuals and the updated look and feel of the game. The original music was brilliantly composed and arranged to get the most out of the memory and processing power of the original PlayStation. With much expanded resources, we are able to really improve sound quality and fidelity, while staying faithful to the original compositions.
— (Justin Joyner, Audio Lead)
Remaster or remake? It’s a remake isn’t it? It’s totally a remake? Please settle this.
This is a AAA remaster. We’re giving this the love and attention to detail that we pay to all of our AAA games. We’re building it using the original level geometry so that it plays as close to the original as possible. We’ve also referred to this as a remaster plus, as we are adding new features that we think the fans are going to love!
— (Dan Tanguay, Game Director)
Did you see my idea? Did you read our thread / watch our video / get my letter?
We actually do check online now and then, and we read all our letters. But honestly we’re really, really busy. Did you notice that date? It’s coming up very soon. Like you, we are really huge Crash fans, and we feel that we are taking very good care of what we know is precious to you. There is so much to explain, and we will, in time. For now, please know that we love you, and that we love and appreciate your kind words and support.

Am I reading that right with the voice actors? John DiMaggio is good. What are you concern about with the voice actors? Cause all I post was actors that will play certain characters like John DiMaggio as Uka Uka & Tiny Tiger, and that they wanted to update the voice acting to match the update visuals of Crash N. Sane Trilogy rather than recycle voices from the PS1 trilogy.

Crash Bandicoot: N. Sane Trilogy Coming to “PlayStation 4 and PS4 Pro First,” Sony Clarifies Revealed as one of the big surprises during last year’s E3 2016 at Sony’s press conference, the upcoming Crash Bandicoot: N. Sane Trilogy is sure to bring in waves of nostalgia to gamers from the 90s, while the remastered release may not necessarily be tied to just Sony’s consoles. Tweets from the PlayStation Ireland Twitter account in regard to Crash Bandicoot: N. Sane Trilogy – an upcoming remastered collection of the first three Crash Bandicoot titles – seem to indicate that the collection’s release on PS4 will be a timed-exclusive and “coming to PlayStation 4 and PS4 Pro first.” The clarification is in reference to a comment that PlayStation Ireland made on Twitter in response to a fan question (as seen in an image from NeoGAF) where the company stated that the collection “will be PS4 exclusive” – the tweet, however, has since been deleted and instead the account provided the clarification that it will release on PS4 first. While no official announcement has been provided by publisher Activision or developer Vicarious Visions at this time, Sony’s comments seem to indicate that Crash Bandicoot: N. Sane Trilogy will be a timed-exclusive release on PS4, and that it could see a release (down the line) on other platforms. Source: dualshockers

What do you think of them? I honestly don't have much opinions on voice actors, I usually don't care too much as to who play as said character along with not being familiar with the actors (with few obvious ones because of stuff like DYKGaming).

Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy ‘Upstream’ gameplay Activision and Vicarious Visions have released a three-minute gameplay play-through of Crash Bandicoot‘s fifth stage, “Upstream,” from the upcoming Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy on the PlayStation Store, you will receive a static theme with your purchase. However, Sony just confirmed a new pre-order bonus for their upcoming game. It is unknown at this time if this pre-order bonus is exclusive to the Sony’s own PlayStation Store, or if this pre-order bonus can be obtained at retail stores as well. It’s worth noting that at the time of this writing, if you click on the link provided in the tweet, it directs you to the PlayStation Store, however the only pre-order bonus mentioned in it’s description is the original, static pre-order theme. Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy Gets New “Sewer or Later” Gameplay Footage Showing off More Crash 2
Today, developer Vicarious Visions’ and publisher Activision released some new Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy gameplay footage showing off more Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back, specifically the “Sewer or Later” level.
For all you Crash Bandicoot noobies out there: Sewer or Later is the twelfth level in the game and the second level of the third warp room in Crash 2. In it, Crash explores Cortex Island’s sewers (again). The stage notable introduces triple-bladed fans that spin too fast for Crash to slip through unharmed. Thus, the player must take out the blades first by spinning the scrubbing bubbletrons into them.

See Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy Graphics Compared Alongside the Originals in New Video
Developer Vicarious Visions’ and publisher Activision have released a graphical comparison video, comparing the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy to the original series, or rather comparing the remastered version of Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back to the original, 1997 PlayStation version.
The new footage shows original vs. remaster footage of one of the chase sequences in Crash 2, specifically one of the bear chase sequences. As you can see in the video, Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy almost looks like an entirely different game when compared alongside the originals. Yet, all the charm and Crashness is also there.
The video also simply really drives home that Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy is not just a remaster of Crash Bandicoot, Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back and Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped, but a “remaster plus” as Vicarious Visions has put it.
Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy is set to release for PS4 on June 30, 2017 for $39.99 USD.

Today Activision and Vicarious Visions announced the winner of the previously launched Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy Idle Animation Contest, that prompted fans to submit ideas for an idle animation for Crash in the upcoming game.
The winner is “Crash Wumpa Volley” by Simon Davidian and Kirsty Capes, and it does pretty much exactly what it says on the tin.
You can see it in action in the video below, which is brief but sweet.

See Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy’s Crash 2 Compared Alongside the Original in New Video Developer Vicarious Visions’ and publisher Activision released a graphical comparison video, comparing the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy to the original series. More specifically, the new video — like previous similar videos — compares the remastered version of Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back to the original, 1997 PlayStation version. Even more specifically, the video shows off Crash 2’s twenty second level and the second level of the fifth warp room: Rock It. This level is notably set in a space station, and requires Crash to use his jet pack in zero gravity. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy Gets New Video All About Polar Today, Developer Vicarious Visions’ and publisher Activision released a new brief Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy video all about the character: Polar. For those that don’t know: Polar is a polar bear cub who first appears in Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back. Described as one of Crash’s friends, Polar specifically aids Crash in various parts in the series. He also has appeared in 3 kart racing titles and other mainstream Crash Bandicoot titles. Polar is set to return for Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy in the same role as the original version of the second game. Source: dualshockers
