Well just remember that even if it goes off he doesn't necessarily dodge the hit. Or even 100% dodges it, he might just get shot in the leg instead or something like that. But it's supposed to go off whenever he's in danger.
I guess the only danger is someone exaggerating it to epic proportions but it's generally reasonable.

His spidey sense automatically moves him out of danger, but I guess if he's not fast enough he'll be hit. I was just commenting that sometimes he gets caught by punches, but seemingly always avoids laser beams. I just wish they gave it a window of operation.

Well he doesn't automatically move, he is warned. He can ignore the warning if he wants, and there are times that he has. But all characters will always dodge what will kill them, it's why street levelers "dodge bullets" (and everybody else), but get hit by things they shouldn't. Batman does it, Cap does it, TMNT does it, etc.

Well look closely, he can ignore it, it takes some effort. If I were to punch at him, his mind send a quick alert and he would dodge it, most of the time, it's almost like a quick shock to a person. However you can ignore that shock if you wished to. I mean if the Flash was coming at at him, it'd go off, but he'd still die. Horribly. So it doesn't equate to an automatic dodge, but it is extremely useful for such. It has even gone off when someone has glared at him menacingly or if some villain is simply in the area. Another way to look at it would be if his eyes were closed, if he were to go near an edge slowly, his Spidersense would go off and get more intense as he got closer. His Spidersense also assists him in his swinging.

However you can ignore that shock if you wished to. I'm aware he can ignore it, but what I mean't was that most of the time he's just gonna react. Unless those circumstances where he needs to ignore it. But, I mean't during a situation where he's fighting he's far less likely to ignore it, since his instinct is key to his fighting. I mean if the Flash was coming at at him, it'd go off, but he'd still die. Horribly. So it doesn't equate to an automatic dodge, but it is extremely useful for such. Well, Flash is way too fast, but what I was referring to was the window of activation which is intrinsic to his response time. We all know spidey can evade the way he does because he has prior inquiry. But, how far ahead is this inquiry seems to be when ever the plot wants.

He will try to dodge it, but it isn't an auto dodge, it usually is though. The only "problem" with it I'll say is that he (or anybody else) will always auto dodge whatever would kill them no matter how fast it is. Batman not getting hit by something that other JLA'ers get hit by simply because he can't survive it is a good example.

I think I see what you mean, So, they'll make him see ahead as far as he needs to in order to deal with a powerful threat?

Well he can still lose, but it won't be anything fatal generally. Even if a character dies, it isn't usually just some "one shot", they go done with glory. Like if Supergirl threw a haymaker at Batgirl, she obviously wouldn't get hit by it, because it would kill her outright, so she'd dodge.
The same thing with other streetlevelers dodging bullets, while guys like Hulk and Supes get hit by them, because they can.

Makes sense, it would be hard to explain them surviving attacks that can kill them. Unless the heroes are made of iron and the writing becomes stupid. Makes sense for spidey's radar to be open be left without limitations like that. Though, it also tends to be under-written alot like you said. Guess it means that with great power comes even greater writing.

It almost seemed that way, "I couldn't even attack him anymore because *he* knew it before I did."

I think sacrifice the core of a character to make them "cool" Ultimately ruins them. Some characters have the potential for that kind of change, but others don't.

Spiderman could be a "badass" character, but he is better off as friendly neighborhood.
Is it me or do those guys in your sig look like Obama?

I agree, I like his down to earth personality; No need to make him a bad ass.
They look like Obama, seriously?!

But guys like Strange and GL and Supes are so hard to argue (and even Bats) because their power level fluctuates too much. Fluctates in the sense that they can pull out some high-end feats that are well above their norm and you couldn't call SMVFL because they have plot powers that can do anything [anything the plot wants that is] to fall back on. That is hard to argue, I didn't realise how hard it was until I really sat down and thought about it.

Very true, which is why I gave up debating online. And it became about winning... I was the top ranked debator at KMC back in probably 05 or 06 when I posted, but it was just nonstop drama and jealousy and people trying to make a name for themselves by starting stuff with me. There were many good moments too, but it got to be more and more about owning (which is fun, but it gets tiring, or bad when people are sensitive), and less about having good discussions. When I first arrived I came for that, and the place was harsh, so I adjusted. Then it just got worse and worse, all the reports and other nonsense. And the fact that people (much like in real life) can say or do what they want to me and I can't do anything back because I'm "making them look bad" because of whatever talent or appearance or whatever. It just got stupid. The "fanboy slayer" semi retired. I like differing opinions, but I think they should be handled better.

It just became a place where people could inflate their ego's by "owning" people less knowledgable than themselves. Honestly, the internet boisters some of the most insecure people I've ever met. Making it virtually impossible to have good discussions. I think that's why I decided to do what I used to do when I first started using the internet: Chating with cool people and browsing various media's a like. Internet discussions just aren't worth it, because they turn ugly fast and always comes down to who can post last. I'm honestly sick of it hearing about it.

Exactly, and people try to "use" you to own someone. that's bad too. I've had people come here and ask me to "own" someone. It's kinda funny in a way, but it's why I left. Another thing I didn't like is tournament corruption, people asking me because of my popularity to gather votes for them.

On Topic:
We've established that Supes beats Hulk in a Standard match, but what about in a slug fest? Put them in an indestructible Cage and have them take turns punching it out. Who would win in that instance?

When I look at what Hulk can do, it's like I agree. Then I see what Superman does ridiculously and I disagree too. In a locked up cage though, Hulk would win logically. Even against T-Vo, Heat Vision, and the rest of supes abilities.
