no I would definitely say akuma has the speed advantage if anybody. he has a the misogi which is more or less instant. Sephiroth has the power advantage though what with the super spells and all.
question is do either of them have the stamina and defense to survive just one hit from each other?

He's fast enough, Asura Senku is proof of that. As for getting his head chopped off, Gouki can do the same with Tenma Shurettou or Misogi to seph. His hand is equivalent to a blade, So, he's not at a disadvantage when it comes to weapons. Nevermind his ShunGokuSatsu kills you before it finishes. As, Da masta said, it depends on stamina here.

seph can teleport i believe. If he can get away from akuma for a good few seconds, then he has the match.

I just wanna say just in case this get's brought up, that I don't think Akuma's Comet crushing punch should count in this fight.

Seriuosly, if Akuma can crush an Earth destroying comet, wouldn't he be able to destroy the earth? I don't think akuma can do that.

Sephiroth will win, IMO but Akuma has his chances.

I doubt it, but in the CFE game he destroys a comet and the comet was going to destroy the earth.

I was thinking, in all of Akuma's feats, he was regular. Maybe that might be what he could do if he went Shin, but that would be one HUGE jump in power.

It's actually not really about who has the most destructive power. Both are equally capable of killing eachother. The question is who can make the kill faster.
Which is why I lean toward Akuma. Seph's only chance of winning is catching him in a large area of effect spell. While his sword is no doubt strong enough to cut through Akuma, It's unlikely that seph would be able to hit him with it as good at dodging gouki is. Akuma on the other hand needs only get inside him. at that point he can finish seph with one of a number of ways.
Either that or he could just use his misogi and come down on seph like lightning. That would also be an instant kill.
I see sephiroth winning one of two ways.
A: Teleporting away and casting a super spell on Akuma from a distance, which will require time.
B: Casting barrier on himself and doing the same thing. But that'll leave him open for a short amount of time at the beginning of the round during his barrier spell incantation or whatever.
Akuma takes this one 8 times out of 10.

Actually, I don't think the Super Nova does all that stuff it shows.

There's no mistaking it. Supernova is an incredibly powerful attack. No doubt the clip misrepresents sephiroth's power just a little bit...

But all we really need to know is whether or not it will kill Akuma. And yes it definitely will.

But if you take it from the game machanics standpoint, he has to be in a sort of limit break when he does it (In the game, you know it's coming once he starts flying). Ultimately it would simply take too long. And from what it looks like, it would take waaaay too long.

Sephiroth overpowers akuma by far in many aspects, but he's just not fast enough. And with all that sin on him from killing people all the time (especially Aeris ), I don't think he has a chance of surviving a demon hit.

What company created Kain then? Any character from that company wouldn't stand the slightest chance in hell against SF2 Gouki, let alone Alpha Gouki and S. Gouki. The reason is they aren't look-alikes of DBZ characters and don't have any attacks involving chi, nor are they in flashy 2D sprite games. Oh you know it pal.
