I'm hoping for DLC. Honestly, Momoji making it over Lei Fang kinda urks me tbh.

Lei-Fang would've been the tenth character had they allowed for 10 girls: I wonder how it would have been if it were done in America. We're not as obsessed with the school girl thing over here so I'd imagine that Lei would be a shoe in.

We'll never know because America and PC culture possibly scared Team Ninja off. I would love to get games like this from people who know how to draw/design women I.E. Team Ninja and Japanese devs. When Japanese try to appeal to Americans we get characters like Laura from SFV. [Yum] But, it rarely happens.

Maybe they have a small budget and they're catering to their own base. Tecmo probably doesn't give them a lot of money for the title. Not sure why they would run from an otherwise profitable business venture unless they felt it wouldn't sell. Japanese developers make other games here, but you're right about them making women look good. Thank goodness for that.

They probably want to avoid the bad press. Remember all the nonesense with DOA 5?

They probably want to avoid the bad press. Remember all the nonesense with DOA 5? Nothing more than usual. Seems like Mortal Kombat was a bigger deal and they're more tame. I don't think it's because of that. If a company can make money they'll do it. That never stopped them before. We'll see though.

I don't know what they mean by more demand. Also of times these things do good in the west, look at Senran Kagura or Hyper Dimensional Neputonia [did better in the west than Japan]. There's a market for this stuff here. They shouldn't be dissuade, because anime always get's bad press but sells much better than people might think. Samething happened with Namco X Capcom, they didn't bring it over. Yet, Project X Zone it's sequel is doing good in North America and even has a sequel. People underwrite Japanese games alot these days, but in actual sales they ebb and flow and alot of Sleeper hits come out when westerners feel like buying some anime games.
Hell, The Evil Within sold over 3 Million copies. Just to compare Batman Arkham Knight sold 5 million and Evil Within was a much smaller game. That's crazy.

Sometimes you get a small budget or you have incompetent people in charge. It could be a variety of factors. I don't think it'll be kept from us in the long run though. Japan just has to take advantage of more modern times and get out of their shell a bit without being PC.

It's slow, but it's coming. I like the fact that they're jumping on VR with this game and possibly Resident Evil 7. I think that's smart, but Japan is definetly the underdog in modern gaming. I don't know why and even I bought into the BS that Japanese games aren't popular [You didn't, though lol]. Yet, you see stuff like this:
Not even counting the IGN comments which numbered in the 3000's when they usually average in the hundreds.
The PC steam sales seem to be doing pretty good too. They also seem to have a jump on the remake market with Final Fantasy and Resident Evil. I like how the press tries everything in their power to downplay them. Though, it seems to be stopping, MGSV got a 10 from IGN lol. Spiritual home of gaming indeed.

I might get some time with it on Steam though if the price is right. Japan has what it takes they just have to make more strides to get in with the modern audience. They're doing it with SFV. Introducing crossplay and launching it on PC. Plus there are a ton of Japanese fighters coming on PC as well. All we need now is Tekken, Soul Calibur, and Virtua Fighter. It'll be a good day indeed.

Virtua Fighter should be there, I mean Sonic is coming to PC and Sega is focused on PC and mobile now. So, I'm optimistic. Tekken remains to be seen.

Here is more DOAX3 News from Siliconera...
While Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 hasn't been announced for the West, those of you who'd like to play it can do so by ordering the Asian version, which will have subtitles in multiple languages, according to Koei Tecmo and Play-Asia.
Here are details from the press:
Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 will be releasing with subtitles in multiple languages (Chinese, English, Japanese) for the Asia region, without additional censorship. Voices will remain in Japanese. Multi-language options are available for the PS4 and PS Vita, as well as Collector's Edition.

This reminds me of what they did with fatal frame 5 and Xenoblade. Looks like there won't be a western version.

Here is some DOAX3 News from Siliconera, and some lovely pictures from Gematsu...
The Dead or Alive series is all about its variety of costumes, and Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 is no exception. Koei Tecmo revealed artwork for some of the bonus costumes that will be included as first-print bonuses and the “Extreme Sexy Costume Set” from the Collector’s Edition.
Marie Rose’s “Little Devil Swimsuit” available through first-print copies of Dead or Alive Xtreme 3: Fortune on PlayStation 4 to celebrate her 1st place finish in the character popularity contest.
Honoka’s “Angelic Swimsuit” will be available through first-print copies of the PlayStation Vita version of the game, Dead or Alive Xtreme 3: Venus. This costume is her reward for finishing 2nd place in the character popularity contest.
The above is a look at Kasumi wearing her swimsuit from the “Extreme Sexy Costume Set” that will be available through Dead or Alive Xtreme 3: Fortune’s Collector’s Edition. There’s a total of 9 different outfits from the set.
And finally, here’s a look at Nyotengu in a swimsuit from the “Extreme Sexy Costume Set” that comes with the Collector’s Edition of Dead or Alive Xtreme 3: Venus for PlayStation Vita. Similar to the PS4 version, there will be a total of 9 different swimsuits.

Here is some more information ranging from character voices within the profiles (which 2 audio samples are Japanese obviously, the only translation I found is from FreeStepDodge which was from werewolfgold which only covered 1 of the 2 voices) and a preview of the Collectors Edition from siliconera...
Marie Rose

Honoka
www.gamecity.ne.jp/doax3/chara_02.html
Kasumi
www.gamecity.ne.jp/doax3/chara_03.html
Marie Rose
"My name is Marie Rose. Call me Marie. I spend my days as a servant, running errands for Lady Helena. But one day, Lady Helena said 'Take some days off and go on a vacation or something every once in a while!' I don't really have time for that, you know. Hmm... Well, since it's so out of the ordinary, maybe I'll reply to that invitation to that southern island."
Honoka
"How do you do? I'm Honoka. The other day, I won a raffle at a shopping mall! It looks like it's for a southern island called 'Zack Island'. I feel awkward leaving my Grandma all alone. But she said, 'You need to venture out every so often!' So, I've decided to try to go by myself."
Kasumi
"I am Kasumi. Since I became a runaway ninja, every day I'm pursued. But, no matter how painful it is, I will continue to fight. I have prepared myself for that. But, recently, even though there's always been a catch, that island keeps turning up. Something is there for sure. I have to go back there."
DOAX3 Fortune Collector Editions will include playing cards featuring: Marie Rose, Ayane, Hitomi, Momiji, and Helena. A Marie Rose 3D mouse pad that is said to be thin, light, and easy to use. While DOAX3 Venus Collectors Edition will include playing cards featurning: Honoka, Kasumi, Kokoro, & Nyotengu. A Honoka 3D mousepad that will give your wrist a proper level of comfort with its large volume.
Both versions will contain a "Gravure Photo Book" that features all nine heroines in a 48-page book. Fortune and Venus will have different versions for each collectors edition.
Here are the samples of both Collectors Editions:
Finally, here’s a look at a sample of one of the nine “B2 Xtreme Bath Posters” that come included in the Ultimate Package bundle:
