I absolutely agree, DC writers nowadays are really good. I don't read modern comics too much, but from what I do read I can really see this. Marvel's writers haven't been good since the mid nineties. Alot of stuff they put out now IMO is just plain silly *Cough* Sentry *Cough* and their events pale in comparison too say DC ones. I cannot for the life of me figure out why people still read marvel now.

Well, DC has always been more mature. The point about the stories is that DC's stuff just keep's getting better versus marvel IMO.

Marvel has had some good Arcs this year, but I will say I generally like Marvel's characters better. Do you have any faves?

I actually prefer marvel characters to DC, but I prefer the way the characters are presented in mordern DC comics. You don't see DC running around with Ultimate DC [Yes, I hate the ultimate verse], because they do not need too. Main universe has enough surprises in it versus Marvel. I just can't stand bendis to be honest and unnecessary reboots in continuity which marvel seems to do. Dc can be just as guilty [Darkseid's stupid retcons]. But, there major arcs make up for it.

Though, like I said. I'm not aheavy comic reader. I prefer Graphic Novels and Manga [Japanese Graphic Novels].

Well that is what I meant, the Marvel characters are easier to relate to, but DC tends to have more mature writing. I enjoy the Ultimate Universe, it is an attempt to bring the characters to a more modern sense (though they are often weaker). I just nowadays pick up a comic and read it, I generally enjoy what I find. I was reading a good Blade comic yesterday.

In terms of comic events, DC undeniably is better, they have big time selling comic events like the Crisis' and whatnot(I recently picked up Infinite Crisis, just to read my boy SBP bringing the pain), Marvel has less to compare with the larger events, their biggest one was probably both the Secret Wars(Pre-Retcon Beyonder for the motherfuckin win!).

Hm, I feel this is kinda overstated. DC in terms of characters with a human feel has stepped up their game: Batman, ION, and Batgirl pre-OYL, For me it can't be used as anymore, though I respect your opinion. [/I]

I guess that's where we diverge, I enjoy reading about classics. Hell, reading classic characters with classic style of writing is great even in modern times for me. I guess that's why I can enjoy: Popeye, Peanuts, and more even now. To me classic characters can be updated in terms of animation, but I'm fine keeping everything else the same. [/I]

I really like classic marvel story arcs: Acts of Vegence, Contest of Champions, Fall of the mutants, Inferno, Evolution Wars, Secret Wars and so far. Classic marvel is awesome!
