Next Injustice 2 character reveal scheduled for Friday, April 28th
With less than five weeks to go, we’re finally in the home stretch of Injustice 2’s release. Following gameplay trailers for The Flash and Captain Cold, as well as a series of Watchtower livestreams, Injustice.com has once again updated–claiming that the next character reveal will be taking place on Friday, April 28th, a mere 18 days before the title releases.
With the revelation that Mr. Freeze would be a premier skin for Captain Cold in the “Your Battles, Your Way” trailer, and only 11 slots remaining on the Injustice website–10 of which are likely reserved for DLC characters–we could be looking at the final fighter joining the base roster.
All signs point to the Clown Prince of Crime, The Joker, making his glorious return; NetherRealm Studio’s Ed Boon even recently tweeted a vine of Tara Strong (who voices Harley Quinn in both the Injustice and Arkham series) together with Mark Hamill, the original voice of the animated Joker–who, despite stating he’d retire from the role after Arkham City, has returned to voice the character in a few other projects. Richard Epcar voiced the Joker in the original Injustice, however. You can view the tweet below.
Or perhaps this is elaborate misdirection? Either way, we’ll find out in a few short weeks.

Scarecrow inspires true terror in his Injustice 2 gameplay trailer
Fresh off of getting a breakdown on the latest Injustice 2 Watchtower live stream, NetherRealm Studios has unveiled the gameplay trailer for Scarecrow, whom we first saw in the “It’s Good to Be Bad” trailer. His intro with Batman reveals that the scary, demonic-looking form he takes during combat is a result of Jonathan Crane releasing a tank of his signature fear toxin before each match, causing his foes to hallucinate this ghastly incarnation.
The trailer displays his forward-moving, torpedo-like headbutt, his long-range sickle attacks–reminiscent of Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3′s Ghost Rider, or Lobo from the original Injustice: Gods Among Us. He also has a command throw where he fills his enemies with a mouthful of fear toxin, a teleport that allows him to switch sides, and a projectile-destroying special. We also see a few of his Gear abilities that allow him to zone the opponent with a flock of crows, as well as a low attack that keeps foes in a restand state for mixups. He is confirmed to be a Power character.
Finally, once his Trait, the Fear Meter, is filled, he gains access to Traumatize, a fast, low-hitting, fullscreen ground pound that launches for combo opportunities. Lastly, we get another look at his super, which involves him ripping a whole in reality to bury his victims in their own graves.

Bane's wrestler motif is better emphasized with his changes in Injustice 2; here is a breakdown of the venom pumped luchador
Like Flash, Bane's moveset appears to be mostly the same. He does have a few new tricks though.
In particular, it looks like the changes to Bane are intended to emphasize him more as a grappler character. His upclose options are both stronger and weaker from Injustice 1 as a result.
Bane now has added mixup options for his 1,1,2 (light, light, medium). He can turn the last hit into an overhead, delay the attack, and cancel it into a dash.
xhttps://clips.twitch.tv/SwissHyperIcecreamResidentSleeper
His forward medium, down still turns his attack into an overhead. Unlike Injustice 1, it now has additional followup options, at the cost of meter.
xhttps://clips.twitch.tv/BreakableBloodyMosquitoGrammarKing
The animations for his normal throw and his command grab have been altered greatly. You can control which direction the opponent is placed at based on using meter or not for the command grab.
xhttps://clips.twitch.tv/NeighborlyResilientDeerSquadGoals
Now while the meter burn animation for his venom uppercut does look cool, I do think it might be a nerf compared to the meter burn drop kick followup. The old follow up was advantage on block, making Bane extremely scary upclose.
This nerf might be necessary with the changes made to Bane's 1, 1, 2 string.
xhttps://clips.twitch.tv/EndearingBillowingRatKippa
Bane's overhead special also appears to have been altered greatly. It definitely seems closer to what you might expect from a wrestler type character.
I'm only theorizing here, but the move looks unsafe to the previous overhead special that was actually a safe move in Injustice 1.
xhttps://clips.twitch.tv/GoldenEncouragingOysterWow
The utility of Bane's super has been completely altered. Instead of an unblockable command grab that could easily be jumped on reaction, Bane has been given a stomp attack that can affect the opponent from full screen.
You'll likely won't be able to zone out a Bane who has full meter.

Terrifying up close, even scarier from afar... Scarecrow doesn't fit a traditional character archetype in Injustice 2, but he's still a nightmare
No doubt Injustice 2's spookiest character, we got to see our first in depth look at Scarecrow on today's Watchtower stream.
Scarecrow is a slower-moving character, who is actually scarier the farther away he is from his foe. Developers describe him as not aligning with any one traditional fighting game character archetype, but rather having a healthy mixture of zoning and grappling.
We'll break down our first impressions of the fearsome fighter, but first, let's take a look at his Super combo:
xhttps://clips.twitch.tv/PrettiestVivaciousWheelFloof
Scarecrow has some of the farthest reaching normals we've ever seen. Echos of Dhalsim from Street Fighter come to mind when seeing this character's reach, though unlike Sim, Scare can overhead, sweep and uppercut from very far off.
The team uses the term "melee zoner" to describe him, as he controls the space in an effective, yet unconventional way.
xhttps://clips.twitch.tv/ManlyBitterCrocodileNomNom
xhttps://clips.twitch.tv/AmorphousPeacefulFerretDoubleRainbow
Death Spin sees Scare whirl his chain like a giant fan, covering the space directly in front of him both low and high. He can do this in a stationary position, advancing forward or even while retreating:
xhttps://clips.twitch.tv/BlitheSpookyCasettePJSalt
Scarecrow wouldn't be Scarecrow without his famous Fear Gas. He's got a few means of using Gas, all of which do damage in and of themselves, but have a more crucial use we'll talk about in just a moment:
xhttps://clips.twitch.tv/WildPeppyZucchiniCmonBruh
Amidst his otherwise zoning-based techniques, Scarecrow has a command grab. We'll see just how much players end up using it, but it looks really cool regardless:
xhttps://clips.twitch.tv/ColorfulTacitPrariedogFUNgineer
Scarecrow's unique character trait revolves around his Fear Meter. He builds this by hitting his foes with, you guessed it, his Fear Gas. When the meter is not yet full, he can surround himself with a damage over time aura to help things along.
Once filled, Scarecrow gains access to an extremely fast ground pound attack that can hit an enemy anywhere on the screen. If it makes contact, he'll follow up for some big time combos:
xhttps://clips.twitch.tv/ObedientChillyGorillaGOWSkull
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Gorilla Grodd truly is a beast of a character as he boasts both brute strength and telekinetic powers - Gorilla Grodd character breakdown
Despite Gorilla Grodd being one of the first characters announced for Injustice 2, we haven't received much information on how the character plays until now. For the most part, Gorilla Grodd appears to be a rushdown character but he has a few tricks that must be respected from full screen.
First up, is Groilla Grodd's clothesline attack. This attack will cause Gorilla Grodd and the opponent to switch sides.
The meter burn follow up allows Gorilla Grodd to extend the combo to be longer.
xhttps://clips.twitch.tv/RelentlessGenerousCaribouHassaanChop
The next attack showcases Gorilla Grodd charging the opponent down in a stampede like manner. It's notable that this move can be cancelled for mix up opportunities.
Meter burning this move makes Gorilla Grodd move faster and leads to more damage.
xhttps://clips.twitch.tv/DependableSeductiveEggnogKappaClaus
Street Fighter players will recognize this next move as Gorilla Grodd's version of the "Demon Flip." Gorilla Grodd will leap into the air which can lead into a punch follow up, a kick follow up, or a grab follow up.
The grab follow up has a meter burn option that will allow the player to extend the combo.
xhttps://clips.twitch.tv/TacitTallPeachYouWHY
Gorilla Grodd is also armed with a ground pound attack. Under normal circumstances, the ground pound actually has very little range but it must be blocked low.
The range of the ground pound will extend to full screen if meter burned.
xhttps://clips.twitch.tv/TalentedWrongTofuChefFrank
Grodd's character power, "Activate Telekinesis," enables additional moves and combos. These new moves tend to increase Grodd's footsie potential with specials that reach further than his limbs.
This also appears to enable a tool so Grodd can get in against zoners. Grodd can go into a status that makes him completely immune to projectiles and ranged attacks.
xhttps://clips.twitch.tv/FaithfulDifficultTapirDxCat
xhttps://clips.twitch.tv/SoftCaringPenguinUncleNox
xhttps://clips.twitch.tv/DaintyFriendlyReubenDansGame
And finally, here is Gorilla Grodd's super.
xhttps://clips.twitch.tv/MoralDeliciousBeaverNerfRedBlaster
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Firestorm really heats up the competition with his powerful zoning abilities - Injustice 2 character breakdown
We got a more detailed breakdown of Firestorm on the latest Watchtower stream. What we see is a character that heavily encourages a zoning heavy playstyle.
One of the main ways for players to do this is via Firestorm's projectile. It's extremely quick so the opponent needs to respond to it preemptively rather than on reaction.
The meter burn follow up makes the projectile even faster and increases its damage output. It appears as though both versions can be harmlessly ducked under.
xhttps://clips.twitch.tv/CredulousCovertLardGrammarKing
Firestorm will also be able to set up molten traps that must be blocked low. It's possible to place the molten trap in three different ranges.
When meter burned, this move will stun the opponent for a great length. This will allow Firestorm time to follow up for a combo.
xhttps://clips.twitch.tv/AmazonianOptimisticTroutImGlitch
Firestorm also appears to have a flaming torpedo attack. This attack can also be used in the air, but there doesn't appear to be a meter burn option for this move.
xhttps://clips.twitch.tv/ObliqueFaintSparrowMingLee
The character is also armed with a burst type move that causes an explosion around him. Looks decent for anti-airing.
This move is also most likely Firestorm's wake up attack. It was noted as being a good wake up attack, so it likely has invincibility if used in that way.
In order to further enhance Firestorm's already impressive looking combo game, the meter burn option allows Firestorm to launch the opponent for additional follow ups.
xhttps://clips.twitch.tv/ClumsyGlamorousCarrotHoneyBadger
As for Firestorm's character power, he has three different levels. Over time, it will fill up automatically.
Essentially, Firestorm is rewarded for keeping the opponent out while stalling for time so that his character power can charge up. If the Firestorm player gets to level 3, it will be particularly devastating.
This character power enhances the damage output on Firestorm's moves, grants him a passive health regenerating effect, as well as altering the properties of some of his moves.
In particularly, level 3, which is clear due to the blue flames instead of red flames, many of Firestorm's knockdown attacks become launchers.
xhttps://clips.twitch.tv/DrabYawningSalmonUWot
xhttps://clips.twitch.tv/FilthyHumbleTortoiseHoneyBadger
Finally, in case you forgot what Firestorm's super looks like, here it is again:

Multiverse Mode revealed for Injustice 2 at Insomnia Gaming Festival This past weekend, the Insomnia Gaming Festival was held in Birmingham, England. In addition to a variety of gaming tournaments to celebrate the Festival’s 60th “Lanniversary”–including an appearance by the upcoming Tekken 7–the event included a playable build of Injustice 2. While there were a series of scheduled exhibition matches between some of the U.K.’s top NRS talent, there was also a significant reveal: the existence of the new single-player Multiverse Mode. Most recently teased on the latest Injustice 2 Watchtower live stream by NetherRealm’s Community Specialist Tyler Lansdown as being “kind of like [MKX’s] Living Towers, but not really,” this seems to serve as the equivalent to Towers, and should be a great way for players to farm for Gear, without journeying to online battlegrounds. In addition to the campaign, online, and fighting game standard arcade modes, Injustice 2 also introduces the new Multiverse mode. Similar to Mortal Kombat X’s Towers, the Multiverse allows players to travel to an ever-changing series of parallel worlds in the DC Universe and battle alternate versions of the heroes and villains with various handicaps, stipulations, and goals. Completing the gauntlet, you’ll gain access to various tiers of Motherboxes, which yield new Gear, items, and shaders for your characters. Six of the seven planets available in the screenshot below are named, “The Rage,” “Blown Away,” “Overthrown,” “The Grave,” “Bad Odds” and the “Fifth Dimension,” with many of these titles no doubt being references to events within the DC lore, (as well as a quick jab at Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe’s defining mechanic). Each planet has between one and three objectives for players to complete, and are all set to expire in varying amounts of time, mirroring Mortal Kombat XL’s hourly, daily and Premiere Towers, which changed weekly. There are also five squares on each planet, with “The Grave” having three lit up, perhaps indicating that each world will have five “Levels” to battle through? NRS content creator Super has posted a pair of videos to further explain what little we know about this new gameplay mode right now. Finally, someone was also able to snap a screenshot of Deadshot’s Trait from the in-game move list, as we haven’t seen much of the Suicide Squad member since his reveal back at Gamescom in August. We can see that he has three types of ammo available, that will likely have various effects on his attacks. Simply pressing the Trait button will load up his “Incendiary Ammo.” Pressing Trait while holding forward provides him with “Explosive Ammo,” which has 1 frame of startup and will make his Wrist Cannon special moves do more damage, along with an additional buff. Using Trait while holding back gives Deadshot “Poison Ammo,” which will no doubt inflict Damage-Over-Time (DOT) to his opponents, similar to Venomous D’Vorah and Acidic Alien. Source: shoryuken

Brainiac arrives for the final chapter of Injustice 2’s Shattered Alliances this Thursday
We’re a mere 28 days away from the release of Injustice 2, so NetherRealm Studios’ hype train is continuing at full speed ahead. While we’ve recently seen the official gameplay trailer for the Society’s Poison Ivy–who will be the recipient of a full character breakdown alongside Catwoman and a third yet-to-be-named character, on the next Watchtower livestream sometime this week–we do have a concrete release date on the next piece of content: specifically the next Shattered Alliances story trailer.
The final chapter, focusing on Brainiac, will be released this Thursday according to the Injsutice Twitter account. While we’ve seen a few in-game screenshots of the character, after he was unveiled as the narrator of “The Lines Redrawn” trailer, in addition to being the game’s new lead antagonist (and likely final boss), we haven’t seen any form of gameplay from the Collector of Worlds. This trailer will hopefully provide us with a taste, along with a larger look at his role within the game’s Story Mode, as the battle for power between the Insurgency, Regime and Society rages on. You can see the official tweet below, along with a new piece of artwork for Brainiac.

Today's Injustice 2 Watchtower livestream will feature breakdowns for Poison Ivy, Catwoman, & Deadshot
After recently unveiling gameplay trailers for Poison Ivy and Catwoman, NetherRealm Studios’ Community Specialist Tyler Lansdown promised during last week’s Injustice Watchtower livestream that the next installment would also be a triple header; the devs would break down the other two-thirds of the Gotham City Sirens, and a then-unknown third character.
We now know that they will be joined for a demonstration by the Suicide Squad’s Deadshot Today, April 20th at 3:00 PM CST (1:00 PM PDT) on xhttps://www.twitch.tv/netherrealm. Additionally, the final part of the Shattered Alliances trailer–featuring Brainiac–will also be released that day. You can see the confirmation tweet below.

Has Injustice 2 gone gold on Mortal Kombat 9's six year anniversary? Ed Boon's new Twitter icon and banner leads us to believe as much Let's recall back to a time before Mortal Kombat X was released. Specifically, a month before its official release date. Remember when Ed Boon changed his Twitter icon to be the icon of Mortal Kombat X, but gold? This was likely to signify that the game went gold during this time. www.eventhubs.com/news/2015/mar/18/big-kombat-kast-stream-may-air-tomorrow-boon-further-hints-spawn-and-has-mortal-kombat-x-gone-gold/Well, looks like Ed Boon has done this again. His Twitter icon and banner seems to indicate that Injustice 2 has now gone gold, coincidentally on the six year anniversary of Mortal Kombat 9's release. Injustice 2 will be released on May 16, 2017. That's less than a month away at this point so the timing makes perfect sense. With nine DLC characters on the way, NeatherRealm Studios is likely now working on DLC. Source: eventhubs

Poison Ivy keeps her opponents away with powerful tools and traps, but has some handy tricks for up-close combat - here's the breakdown recap
Today we saw the NetherRealm Studios crew breakdown three more Injustice 2 characters during the Watchtower stream. If you missed the stream, allow us to give you the recap starting with Poison Ivy.
NRS explained that Ivy is a character that wants to keep her opponent at a distance. She has several tools that knock her foe back and keep them locked down once they're in an ideal spot.
Before we get into her moves, here's a look at Poison Ivy's super.
xhttps://clips.twitch.tv/MoldyGlamorousOxOptimizePrime
Keep away:
Baseline Ivy has a handful of powerful tools to zone the opponent out. Her upward drill is incredibly strong, tracking the opponent wherever they are on screen and knocking them further back. When meter-burned, a second drill will connect and pop the opponent up for a follow up combo.
She also has a whip-like weapon that allows her to hit from a distance. This can attack straight horizontally, hit low, and be used as a multi-hitting attack when meter-burned for extra lockdown and chip damage.
Ivy also has a nice trap for those who manage to power through her ranged attacks. Her ground roots bring forth a bed of thorns that deal damage to any opponent who dares stand in them.
xhttps://clips.twitch.tv/BoldEnticingCaribouSMOrc
xhttps://clips.twitch.tv/AnnoyingBovineCasetteMrDestructoid
xhttps://clips.twitch.tv/LitigiousPlainHerringBrainSlug
Close quarters:
When Ivy is up close, she can press opponents with her kiss, which acts as a true throw. The meter-burn version causes a stun state that allows her to perform a follow up combo or attack.
Bark Skin also helps Ivy stay alive. This reduces her damage intake, allowing her to withstand offensive onslaughts better or perform better in a projectile war.
xhttps://clips.twitch.tv/ElatedPiercingNeanderthalNotLikeThis
xhttps://clips.twitch.tv/PhilanthropicSparklyStarlingDancingBaby
"Pukey":
Nightshade, also known as "Pukey," is Ivy's plant pet. Acting as her character power, Nightshade spits projectiles that track the opponent's place on screen and can help create mix ups, improve zoning, and more.
xhttps://clips.twitch.tv/HonorableSpicyChipmunkTheThing
Abilities:
Lastly, here's a look at just one of the potential loadouts you can equip Ivy with. Featured here is her thorny coat ability which deals damage over time to the opponent whenever she is close to them.

Injustice 2 is the first modern NRS game to feature different base health values for playable characters - here are the numbers we've seen so far
We've had the opportunity to watch quite a number of NRS's Watchtower streams now. At some point, it was clear that a certain change was made so that the value of character health was clearly visible at all times.
This is very unique for NetherRealm Studious as it is their first modern fighting game where characters sport different health values, outside of boss characters. All the playable characters in Mortal Kombat 9, Injustice, and Mortal Kombat X always had "100%" health.
Injustice 2, on the other hand, has unique numerical values as a trait for each character. These traits can be further altered with gear, but the base vitality is predetermined for each character in competitive mode.
I've taken the time to compile all the health values of each character that we've seen so far on the streams. Please keep in mind that these could be subject to change as there is no telling which build of the game is being shown off.
1050 Health
• Swamp Thing • Superman • Firestorm • Black Adam
1150 Health
• Flash
1250 Health
• Batman • Bane • Scarecrow • Dr. Fate • Captain Cold • Harley Quinn • Gorilla Grodd • Dead Shot • Catwoman • Poison Ivy

Robert Englund (Freddy Krueger) is the voice of Scarecrow in Injustice 2
Apparently, the man behind Nightmare on Elm Street slasher icon Freddy Krueger, Robert Englund, is the voice actor for Scarecrow in Injustice 2. Heres one of the recent tweets from Creative Director at NetherRealm Studios, Ed Boon.
Boon notes in the tweet that Injustice 2 was the second opportunity the company had to work with Englund, the first being Freddy Krueger in Mortal Kombat 9.

Deadshot earns his title as the world's greatest sharpshooter in Injustice 2 - here's the character breakdown of this zoning monster
Deadshot was noted on the Watchtower stream as being a superb zoning character. The trade off for these zoning tools is that his up close mix ups are said to be "high risk, low reward."
The character, overall, looks like the successor to Deathstroke from Injustice 1. All but one of his special attacks utilize projectiles.
We've seen Deadshot's super before but just in case you forgot, here it is again:
xhttps://clips.twitch.tv/CrazySaltyKuduCmonBruh
Deadshot's wrist gun is a fast projectile that can be ducked. Since it travels so fast, it's hard to react to.
The meter burn follow up allows Deadshot to shoot additional shots for more damage. It looks like even the meter burned version can be ducked all the same.
It's possible to hold forward during the meter burn follow up to advance slightly, or backwards to retreat.
xhttps://clips.twitch.tv/ProtectiveBlindingBearCharlietheUnicorn
His next attack is called bullet barrage. Deadshot takes a step backwards, then unloads four bullet projectiles.
Meter burning the move will cause the move to unleash eight bullets instead.
xhttps://clips.twitch.tv/InspiringBovineTitanTebowing
Of course, the high powered rifle that sits on Deadshot's back isn't just for show. This projectile attack takes a little longer to fire than Deadshot's other projectiles, but it must be blocked low.
Performing the meter burn action will cause the rifle to fire off eight shots instead of just one. This move is particularly good at pushing the opponent back, even if they successfully block the attack.
xhttps://clips.twitch.tv/AbnegateSparklingLorisEleGiggle
Deadshot is also skilled enough to perform a trick shot. He is able to bounce the bullet off the ground to stop jump ins.
There is a close version and a far version. The player is also able to meter burn this move to create a wall of bullets.
xhttps://clips.twitch.tv/KathishBitterSoybeanLitty
His one melee attack, assassin knee, is an advancing, safe on block special. The meter burn version will knock the opponent down, giving Deadshot some sort of OKI game.
xhttps://clips.twitch.tv/HorribleBitterScorpionGivePLZ
Last, but not least, Deadshot's character power allows him to switch ammo types. Keep in mind that this only enhances the bullets from his wrist cannon attacks, normals included, but will not enhance his rifle attacks.
Red bullets are incendiary. These bullets do a little extra damage and will then burn the opponent for additional damage over time.
Explosive shots are colored blue. These bullets will knock the opponent down and away.
The poisonous green bullets will coat the opponent in poison. Poisoned shots will drain the opponent's meter.

Joker confirmed as a playable character via Injustice 2 achievement list As one of the worst-kept secrets circling NetherRealm’s latest fighter, we’ve finally got confirmation that the Joker will indeed be a playable character in Injustice 2, thanks to the release of the game’s achievement list. There are two achievements to do with the Joker, named “I Love You, I Hate You” and “Why Aren’t You Laughing?” “I Love You, I Hate You” tasks players with defeating the Joker with Harley Quinn’s “Go Night Night” move, while “Why Aren’t You Laughing?” has players defeating Batman with the Joker’s “Not So Funny Is It?” attack. Most of the achievements involve characters with storied rivalries finishing each other off in specific ways, either with standard or meter-burned specials. A couple of my favorites are Captain Cold’s “FROSTY!!!” achievement, unlocked for defeating The Flash with a Cryogenic Blast and Bane’s “OUTTA NOWHERE!!!” achievement, which has him defeating Superman with a meter-burned Bane Bomb. You can find the whole achievement list here and don’t worry, there are no major Story Mode spoilers from this list. The only thing it does reveal that you will be able to take alternate paths at certain points, shown by the “I’ll Do It Again” achievement. www.xboxachievements.com/game/injustice-2/achievements/------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Catch the Clown Prince of Crime in action with this Joker gameplay footage for Injustice 2 Now, we actually get to see the Clown Prince of Crime himself in action–thanks to some new gameplay footage. Mulder Mulderville has shared some new gameplay footage from Injustice 2 that features the Joker in a match with the Flash. The footage (supposedly taken from a recent event in Paris) shows Joker’s new look, sporting a trench coat instead of his usual purple suit. We don’t really see much, since most of the footage is the Flash beating on the Joker, but from what we do see, it seems that he still plays like his original, Injustice: Gods Among Us incarnation. Additionally, we see the start up of his super, but not the entire animation itself, since the start up already KOs Flash. Source: shoryuken

First in-game look at Injustice 2's Darkseid, character intro and super revealed
We have known about the inclusion of Darkseid in Injustice 2 for some time now. The all-powerful Superman villain will be available as a pre-order bonus for those who purchase any version of the game.
If you're tired of seeing that same clip of Darkseid's face emerging from the darkness at the end of official Injustice 2 trailers, you're in luck. Footage of the character's super and one of his pre-fight intros has surfaced online.
The intro shows Darkseid going up against Harley Quinn. We see that he is accompanied by two minions who make way for him as he walks up.
Since we don't know anything about how Darkseid will actually play in-game, fans are taking this intro as a potential hint at his playstyle. The two minions may suggest the ability to use them in battle, much like Gargos does in Killer Instinct Season 3.
These intros can definitely be indicative of what the character can do in battle, and we don't have to extend far for an example. In one of Harley's introductions, she enters the ring with her hyenas at her side, which we know are a part of her actual tool set.

Darkseid is the lord of Apokolips, and with superhuman strength, speed, immortality, the ability to fire omega energy beams, teleport, use telekinesis, and a slew of other powers in his arsenal, he will undoubtedly be an interesting character to behold.

Darkseid's Injustice 2 official character trailer
So Darkseid was revealed as Injustice 2's pre-order bonus a while back. Despite this, we had no gameplay that showcased what Darkseid could do.
At long last, Darkseid's gameplay trailer has been released. A lot of emphasis was certainly placed on his omega beams.
While we've already seen Darkseid's super at this point, I think it's worth checking out just how insane the tracking on this move is (or is it player controlled?).

Let’s put a smile on that face: The Joker’s Injustice 2 gameplay trailer
It seems NetherRealm Studios have truly saved the best for last. Though leaked with the game’s achievement list earlier this week, The Joker was finally unveiled earlier today on a special DC All Access stream for Injustice 2. Though he met his demise at Superman’s hands in Injustice: Gods Among Us, the cackling spirit of the Clown Prince of Crime continues to haunt Injustice 2.
The sequel’s take on Joker is a much darker one, as he now sports what appear to be chest scar and bolts on his skin, with his hair slicked-down for a grungier appearance. As he was my own main in the original, it’s refreshing to see Joker retain his Crowbar and BANG! attacks. The latter can be held to produce a flag for an explosive OTG. His much-maligned mobility seems to have drastically improved, as his new Trait seems to provide him with his HA! speed buffs without the need to parry attacks. He has a new command grab with his Joy Buzzer that can be meter burned for restands, similar to his old Acid Flower, which will ensure he has plenty of setplay opportunities. He seems to have also become a Power character, has additional projectiles (that are likely his Gear abilities), and will once make great use of stages with background bounces.
The trailer also revealed a new stage, in the form of Joker’s Funhouse, lit with in eerie purple and green. In his super, Joker straps his helpless opponent to a chair, before re-enacting the infamous murder of Jason Todd from Batman: A Death in the Family (appropriately performed on Robin, in the trailer)! You can bask in Joker’s gleeful chaos with the trailer below. Hopefully it puts a smile on your face!

Heres another bundle of breakdowwns from eventhubs:
Darkseid is all about overwhelming opponents with crazy beams and his minions
Earlier today, NetherRealm Studios gave Injustice 2 Watchtower stream viewers the rundown on Darkseid, Green Arrow, and Green Lantern.
Since not everyone has the time to check out the full stream archive, we are providing a breakdown recap starting with the lord of Apokolips, Darkseid.
According to the NRS team, Darkseid is a character who wants to keep his opponent out and overwhelm them. He can do so quite effectively with crazy moving eye lasers and the help of his minions. He also deals great damage, meaning his zoning won't only pester the opponent, it'll hurt too.
Before we get into the nuts and bolts of it all, let's take a look at Darkseid's Injustice 2 super.
xhttps://clips.twitch.tv/AltruisticSpeedyWaterDxAbomb
Eye Lasers:
One of Darkseid's main tools in combat is his ability to shoot eye lasers. He has a variety of different angles he can fire them in, which do an excellent job of controlling space. The meter burn versions can be directed manually and cause a pop up that allow for combo conversion.
xhttps://clips.twitch.tv/ChillySmokyRingGOWSkull
Palm Strike:
His palm strike special movie works well as a combo ender and finishes off with a big hit that sends the opponent across screen. This is useful for creating space -- Darkseid is more effective from further away -- and the meter burn version adds more damage.
xhttps://clips.twitch.tv/DepressedExpensiveWaspM4xHeh
Knee Bash:
His knee bash special move also serves as a combo ender and works as one of Darkseid's wake up attacks. It has invincibility on start up, and be sure to meter burn it if you want to remain safe on block.
xhttps://clips.twitch.tv/ShortApatheticRadishHotPokket
Teleport:
Though Darkseid isn't too light on his feet, he does have tools that better his mobility. His teleport can be used on the ground and in the air, and it will always place him next to his opponent. The air teleport allows Darkseid to instantly attack on the way down giving him some interesting mix up options.
xhttps://clips.twitch.tv/CredulousSwissPotatoFloof
Air Stomp:
His air stomp attack is peculiar in that the move actually hits as a low, despite being a jumping special move. The meter burn version ends in a pop up, so you can convert into a combo on opponents who are expecting the high hit.
xhttps://clips.twitch.tv/CleverSarcasticSaladRiPepperonis
Character Power:
Darkseid's character power allows him to summon one of three different minions each with their own unique ability. The first creates a manual explosion that can be used for punishing an opponent or create a combo opportunity after a throw. The second type is a flying demon that can fire a projectile or fly in for a quick attack. Finally, the last type uses a teleporting shoulder tackle to swiftly hit the opponent.

Green Arrow has a few new interesting tools added to his repertoire in Injustice 2
We got a good glimpse of some of Green Arrows tools in the latest Watchtower stream. Overall, Green Arrow is a character that appears to be decently buffed in multiple areas.
His super is completely different this time around. While it is no longer an unblockable and doesn't allow for a juggle followup opportunity, it looks like it makes up for it with its extremely high damage.
It ended up dealing 580.37 damage which is one of the highest we've seen for any of the supers so far.
xhttps://clips.twitch.tv/FancyMoistPlumberBrainSlug
Quite a number of Green Arrow's normals have been changed a bit.
xhttps://clips.twitch.tv/HelpfulFastMonkeyAMPEnergy
It was noted on stream that one of Green Arrow's weaknesses in the original Injustice game was his damage output. A meter burn option was added to his hurricane bow as a result.
Meter burning the hurricane bow will cause Green Arrow to launch the opponent for the final hit. With this, juggle opportunities are presented.
xhttps://clips.twitch.tv/RamshackleEagerMuleSwiftRage
Green Arrow's character power is back and is very similar to how it worked previously. This time around, his electric arrows were made to be a bit more useful since it was the least useful of the three arrow types (fire, ice, electric).
The electric arrows will stun opponents for a little longer so followups while the opponent is being juggled are much easier this time around.
xhttps://clips.twitch.tv/CallousMagnificentBulgogiNomNom
In addition to this, more options have been made available to Green Arrow while he is aiming his arrow. He can now dash forward and backwards while aiming.
He can also put away the arrow and just use it later.
xhttps://clips.twitch.tv/AwkwardSpicyEggnogGOWSkull
But there also exists a brand new arrow type available to be used. The boxing glove arrow.
Unlike the other arrow types, this arrow requires meter. Upon hit, the opponent will lose a very large chunk of their health and will be blown away by an incredible force.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Green Lantern's new specials make him a deadly threat from all ranges in Injustice 2
The last Watchtower stream showed us a lot of the changes to Green Lantern in Injustice 2, coming from the first Injustice game. Aside from his lift special. essentially all of Green Lantern's specials have been replaced or altered.
First off, here's Green Lantern's super once again.
xhttps://clips.twitch.tv/CleanSleepyDugongAsianGlow
Next, Green Lantern's first new special move, "Bowled Over." As the name suggests, a giant bowling ball is bowled as a projectile that must be blocked low.
While the move doesn't normally knock the opponent down, the meter burn option does. There may be potential follow up options available if used from the right distance.
xhttps://clips.twitch.tv/BlazingDepressedSeahorseEagleEye
He also has another new projectile at his disposal. This one is very similar to the green bullet projectile in the original Injustice.
When shot from the air, it will fly forward rather than diagonally downwards as an overhead. Use this to catch people's jumps and you'll likely be able to catch them with the lift once you land.
The meter burn option is a mid hitting beam that comes out super fast. This seems like a very good tool to condition the opponent to not approach.
xhttps://clips.twitch.tv/BraveTalentedSalamanderAliens
His next special will place his lantern in a close, middle, or far location depending on which direction is held after the input is complete. The meter burn option will launch the opponent, allowing for juggle opportunities.
xhttps://clips.twitch.tv/MotionlessGrossKoupreyTakeNRG
The brick wall special is said to be a very good wake up attack for the Green Lantern. It is also said to be capable of blocking projectiles.
Meter burning will knock the opponent away upon hit. If the opponent blocks the meter burn followup, then Green Lantern will be left at advantage and will be allowed to pressure the opponent.
xhttps://clips.twitch.tv/SuperBrightLEDFloof
Green Lantern's character power returns. Like before, his damage will be increased thanks to the buff of the character power.
This time around, his power will enhance the properties of even more of his moves beyond just his lift. His projectile will be granted a fast and slow version if you hold back or forward after shooting it.
The meter burn follow ups for Bowled Over and the lantern special will launch the opponent higher making it easier (or possible) to follow up with a juggle.
xhttps://clips.twitch.tv/ModernOptimisticGnatTBTacoLeft
Overall, these changes make it so that Green Lantern will be an even greater threat than before from mid to far ranges.
He also benefits from having a faster dash this time around so while the opponent is properly conditioned, you'll be able to dash in for mixups and pressure.

The Joker, Brainiac, Black Adam, and more to be showcased during this Injustice 2 Watchtower
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Exploding presents, unblockable crowbars, and more - The Joker is back and better than ever in Injustice 2
The NetherRealm Studios crew showed off three more Injustice 2 characters during today's Watchtower broadcast. Today, we have the rundown on The Joker.
For the most part, The Joker has remained intact from Gods Among Us. However, this time around his tools for zoning and advancing have been improved making him quite scary in battle.
Before we get into the nitty-gritty, let's take a look at The Joker's all new super move.
xhttps://clips.twitch.tv/CarelessPeacefulRhinocerosPlanking
In Injustice 2, Joker's gunshot special move returns. Previously, it did not have a meter burn version, but now it does and this new ability adds more combo opportunity and better zoning capabilities.
xhttps://clips.twitch.tv/RichRacySandpiperOptimizePrime
The classic running crowbar attack also makes a comeback in Injustice 2. This time around, the move is an unblockable as soon as Joker starts running. Mixed with the meter burn version, which adds armor, this can be used to create scary mix up situations.
xhttps://clips.twitch.tv/GeniusFantasticDonutCurseLit
One of the new tools in Joker's arsenal is his parry. When he catches an oncoming hit, Joker will shock the opponent with his hand buzzer. This can add extra damage when meter burned and leaves the opponent standing, allowing for more mix up and pressure potential.
xhttps://clips.twitch.tv/MildRealBeaverDuDudu
Joker's character power makes him laugh, not because it's wimpy, but because of the improvement it gives him. He can build three different levels of his meter and each will give him increasingly faster movement speed. This allows him to get some truly fast jump in attacks, traverse the screen better, and more.
xhttps://clips.twitch.tv/AmusedImportantPigeonTheThing
It just wouldn't be The Joker without his Chattering Teeth. They're back and are still his main tool for setting up mix ups.
xhttps://clips.twitch.tv/WimpyIncredulousGoldfishSmoocherZ
Finally, here are two of Joker's potential gear loadouts. They add his new "Crowbar Fling" projectile attack, exploding presents (which replace Chattering Teeth), and some new looks.

A master of space control, incredible normals... plus an auto correcting dive kick? Brainiac looks like a smart choice in Injustice 2
The most recent WatchTower stream from NetherRealm Studios showed off Injustice 2's big baddie: Brainiac. We've got the low down on the character's strengths, weaknesses and overall play style.
Brainiac appears to be a powerhouse character that you do not want to play footsies with too much. He is all about controlling the horizontal and vertical space with far-reaching normals and amazing anti airs.
It's going to usually be up to Brainiac to set the initial pace of a round, but players who are patient and nimble enough to dupe Brain into a misstep will eventually find the opening they need. His moves are strong and far reaching, but slow and have a good amount of recovery.
Brainiac will dominate any players who try to rush in too quickly, or attempt to force their own style and pace without any tact. We kick things off with Brainiac's Super, in which a few of his minions lock his foe down while his ship blasts them with a massive beam:
xhttps://clips.twitch.tv/AbrasiveHumbleCrabRuleFive
Brainiac's normals are very far reaching, meaning he will be very comfortable at mid range. Many of his regular attacks utilize his tentacles instead of his arms or legs, and so most characters will want to shy away from any kind of footsie battle with him.
xhttps://clips.twitch.tv/EncouragingArtisticCaribouWoofer
Moving right along with the theme of space control, Brainiac's drill and air whip specials (I'm calling the later the "Whomping Willow") give him command over both the land and sky. It's worth noting that he'll usually have to burn bar to make his specials safe.
xhttps://clips.twitch.tv/PowerfulAntediluvianSashimiNotATK
xhttps://clips.twitch.tv/PeppyCoySashimiFUNgineer
Should an opponent get in close, Brainiac will be at one of his few disadvantageous positions. He does have a shoulder tackle as a "get off me" move, which becomes safe when meter-burned. We imagine this will be used defensively more often than not, but will be very useful as a reversal tool.
xhttps://clips.twitch.tv/KawaiiFuriousKuduWTRuck
Also, he has a dive kick. This move doesn't seem to flow with the rest of Brain's arsenal, but he's got it. It can be meter burned for combo potential, and it auto corrects...
xhttps://clips.twitch.tv/BusyStupidCougarFloof
Finally, Brainiac's character skill gives him an assist as he calls in a drone to either shoot straight at his foe or drop a bomb from above. He is able to hold this skill for quite a while, meaning players will be able to create ambiguous set ups, make moves safe and control the space to an even more dominant degree:

13,000 lines of dialogue and over 6,000 intro interactions in Injustice 2 - here's a look at the intros for the first three premier skins
Injustice 2 Watchtower stream delved deeper into the game's story mode and dialogue between the characters.
Cinematic Director Dominic Cianciolo joined in on the fun in order to shed some light on how the game's story was created and the approaches used throughout. When talking about the in-game dialogue, Cianciolo divulged the incredible number of lines included.
"There are 13,000 individual lines of dialogue in-game, and because of the way we have the system developed to re-purpose that in some ways, we have 6,000+ intros in the game," Cianciolo explained.
He goes on to reveal the amount of clash interactions included, and says that there are still more bits of unique dialogue to be added as DLC characters are released.
xhttps://clips.twitch.tv/RespectfulKindClamSMOrc
It's no surprise that NetherRealm and Warner Bros. have put an incredible amount of effort into bringing the personalities of each fighter to life in Injustice 2.
As we found out previously, each of the game's premier skins will give an existing character the look of a different, closely associated character with a unique voice and lines of their own. For example, Super Girl becomes Power Girl.
Today's broadcast gave us our first look at these premier skin intros, showing off the first three in action. We witnessed Power Girl, John Stewart, and Reverse Flash interact with their counterparts.

Injustice 2 health ratings lower than recent in-development builds, here is the updated list for the full launch roster
Injustice 2 is officially out and in the hands of the public (on the east coast, mostly). Because of this, we were able to get the full set of health ratings for every character on the launch roster.
We have been keeping an eye on each character's rating over the course of the game's development. Looking over the numbers tonight, it looks as though there have been decreases in health for nearly everyone.
For example, in the build of the game used for recent Watchtower streams, Darkseid had 1,400 health. In the launch build, however, he has been dropped down to 1,100.
From what we can see, characters have seen a reduction of between 100 - 300 health points.
Injustice 2 health ratings
Darkseid - 1,100
Catwoman - 1,050 Harley Quinn - 1,050 Batman - 1,050 Joker - 1,050 Atrocitus - 1,050 Gorilla Grodd - 1,050 Deadshot - 1,050 Poison Ivy - 1,050 Green Arrow - 1,050 Doctor Fate - 1,050 Captain Cold - 1,050 Scarecrow - 1,050 Bane - 1,050
Flash - 1,000 Cheetah - 1,000 Blue Beetle - 1,000 Black Canary - 1,000 Robin - 1,000
Swamp Thing - 950 Cyborg - 950 Green Lantern - 950 Superman - 950 Supergirl - 950 Firestorm - 950 Aquaman - 950 Wonder Woman - 950 Black Adam - 950 Braniac - 950
