NEC is always a competitive tournament and has been a community event staple since 2012 for the offline DOA community. This year we are going to get things started with an amazing exhibition that could possibly lay some ground for what will happen tomorrow in pools.

If you take a quick look at the pools, you will see why @lordxav1er said they are "stacked." Pool 1 has an interesting setup that almost replicates pools from last year. Most players would probably see @e-Mann or @kwiggle as the pool veteran as E-Mann was second place at this event last year, and Kwiggle has cleaned up at both Battle Royals. @shazzmatazzles is also showing up in pool 1; and she did some major damage to Emann last year in a very good match, so I'm hoping to see an interesting follow up to that.

@ebabil Guney will also be competing in pool 1. He is one of the several International killers, and he won at BAM8; a major in Australia to advance to NEC 17. As proven in his defensive and calculated matches with Pro @berzerk! he will not go down easy in the pools.

@hollow (Kasumi/P4/Alpha), @black Moon Rising (Lei Fang), @rambro (Mila), @ozone (Hayabusa) all bring a certain level of diversity and ferociousness to the table. Most all of them have caused upsets, but they all have unique styles so it's hard to predict who will come out on top in Pool 1.

Pool 2 is very exciting because it's mixed with a lot of returning players and tournament regulars. FSD owner, @mr. Wah is going to be competing! Just might be the only Bass we see this whole tournament... not to mention the best. @sonic Fox might always be busy with MKX, but he is returning to DOA for this event and he is one hard player to read and can give any player issues.

DEAD OR ALIVE 5 Last Round Hitomi (ColdpieceAJ) VS Helena (Lethal_Beauty1)



@coldpieceaj has also shown a lot of attitude and like @lordxav1er has a very quick and well ranged Hitomi. It's possible he could end up being a very dangerous player at NEC because his Hitomi is different enough from Xav1er's to throw regulars off. Though @gill Hustle, @hoodless, @rojikku and @xcaliburbladez are very adaptive, I'm hoping that factor balances everything out to create some really memorable matches in this pool.

Pool 3 has a lot of veterans that have been around since before DOA5. @sweetrevenge117 won a tournament not too long ago against his rival @master and is a legend at fighting tournament regulars. Maybe he could beat champion @jc Akira who is also in this pool. @rikuto... who won the first ever DOA5 tournament could also be a contender to defeat the "beast from the east." He uses slow, but powerful characters coupled with sound intelligence and strategy.

@koompbala hopes to mix things up with Tina. Based off what I know of him he is smart and knows the meta game well. @katsu Hayami, who is usually so busy with the brackets and behind the scenes work he can't compete; competes in this tournament as well. Like Koompbala, he also uses Tina, a character that many would like to see win a major.

TFC 2015: DOA5 LR: Gruff vs jinxed4Ev3r



@gruff is a serious competitor that has been around since the beginning with Lisa and her lab coat. I've seen this guy make great comebacks in his matches, and he improves consistently. The same can be said about @jaeger, @nocttengu and @yin Crescent. I simply can not wait to see the results of these matches!

Moving on to Pool 4 we've got West Coast Champion @crazy Steady who is always a crowd favorite. His character list not only freshens the pace of every tournament, but he plays characters we want to see but don't see like guests Sarah and Jacky. @blackburry is also a player in Pool 4 that is regularly seen in Top 8 as well as 2/3 of the Akira Squad @destructionbomb and @sly Bass.

A match I hope to see in Pool 4 is @gehaktbal vs. @master. This would be an awesome rematch to what could be called a great rivalry with two showmen giving it all they got. Also in Pool 4 we have @virtuakazama and @teru Rock who are also showmen with great writing talents and community knowledge as well. Rock wrote a great piece on the Japanese community and the offline scene that you should certainly check out going into this amazing event.

@xx IMMERW0LF xX and @alithical have also been tournament regulars for a while and have continually impressed the community with their ninja skills. I will never forget when Althical defeated Sly Bass in a Last Round set at Winter Brawl. Great match.

Anyway you spin it -- this community event is going to be the most competitive with lots of value and even giveaways from Team NINJA. Thank you Team NINJA Studio for putting on this incredible Battle Royal. Just being able to write about the Battle Royal this year has touched my heart. It's not only great to see the dedication of this community, it's great to see it grow and see our favorite developer right there with us growing too. Team NINJA used to be a very silent studio. Now they are interacting with us, taking our feedback into consideration and doing great things for the community. Dead or Alive 5: Last Round Core Fighters Celebrates 8 Million Downloads with Free Mila on PS Plus

Dead or Alive fans which are also PlayStation Plus members can enjoy Mila for free on PlayStation 4 to celebrate eight million downloads.

Today Koei Tecmo announced that Dead of Alive 5: Last Round Core Fighters has passed a milestone, with over eight million downloads worldwide.

To celebrate the milestone, the publisher is offering Mila for free for PlayStation Plus members on PS4.

If you want to take advantage of the offer, you have about a month to download the character, as it’s valid only until February 7th. At the moment there are no details about a possible similar offer on Xbox One or PC.

In order to mark the downloads milestone, Koei Tecmo also released a celebratory trailer, which you can see below.

New Dead or Alive 5: Last Round DLC Costumes Are Shockingly Modest; Sixth $93 Season Pass Is Not

Koei Tecmo appears to have the precise intention to keep going with Dead or Alive 5: Last Round costumes pretty much until the end of the world: introducing the sixth season pass.

Today Koei Tecmo released a new set of DLC costumes titled “High Society” (“Young Ladies’ Holiday” in Japanese) for Dead or Alive 5: Last Round, and shockingly, all the costumes included are quite covering and modest, leaving a lot to the imagination.

The costume set is currently available on PS4, Xbox One and PC.

What isn’t all that modest is the sixth season pass for the game, that has also been released today on PS4 and Xbox One, and is priced at the usual price of $92.99. If you’re not familiar with the game, you might think I’m pulling your leg, but I’m not.

This means that those who purchased all the season passes so far, including this latest one, spent an additional $557,94 in costumes, unless they caught a deal somewhere, and that’s in addition to the price of the game itself. If you count the game, that’s pretty much the equivalent of two Nintendo Switch consoles right there.

The new season pass provides two Pop Idol costumes as bonuses, fitting Marie Rose and Honoka, and includes the High Society costume set plus the a few more months of DLC. Here is the full list: High Society Costume Set (17 items)- Additional Costumes (February 2017 – 17 costumes)- Additional Costumes (March 2017 – 16 Costumes)- Additional Costumes (April 2017 – 17 Costumes)- Additional Costumes (May 2016 – 17 Costumes)- Additional Costumes (June 2016 – 17 costumes).

Looks like the good folks at Team Ninja aren’t even close to running out of imagination on how to dress (or undress) their heroines, even if this time around they seem to have taken a break from sheer sex appeal in favor of something a bit more classy and ladylike. It’ll be interesting to see if the trend will continue across the following months.

Dead or Alive 5: Last Round Getting BlazBlue and Guilty Gear DLC Crossover Costumes

Koei Tecmo announced today that it will continue to pay homage to other popular fighting series in Dead or Alive 5: Last round with more popular DLC costumes. That, or Team Ninja finally ran out of inspiration for costumes, triggering the need to pick some from other games.

This time around, the new costume batch coming in March will feature a collaboration with Arc System Works, including costumes from Blazblue: Central Fiction, Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- and Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2.

No screenshots or videos have been released yet, besides the teaser that you can see at the bottom of the post, but the publisher promised that they’ll come soon.

The new costumes will be launched for PS4, Xbox One and PC.

Dead or Alive 5: Last Round Getting “Sexy China Dress” DLC in February; First Screenshots Released



Today Dead or Alive 5: Last Round developer Team Ninja posted on Twitter giving the first look on February’s DLC costume set.

The set is titled “Sexy China Dresses” (at least in Japan), and includes exactly what it says on the tin, a bunch of sexy cheongsam-style dresses.

Each girl will have a different color, embroidery, skirt length, and design for the chest area. The set will also include Chinese-style hairstyles.

The set will be released on Valentine’s Day, February 14th.

Earlier today, Koei Tecmo also announced that the DLC set for March will include crossover outfits from Arc System Works’ Blazblue: Central Fiction, Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- and Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2.

Dead or Alive 5: Last Round’s “Alluring Mandarin Dress” Costumes Released with Screenshots and Trailer

Today Koei Tecmo released February’s DLC costume package for Dead or Alive 5: Last Round, titled “Alluring Mandarin Dress” (the Japanese name is “Sexy China Dress”).

Alongside the DLC, we also get more screenshots showing the rest of the costumes included in the package, and a trailer showing them in action.

The dresses differ in their color, embriodery and the length of the skirt. On top of that, there is also a
difference in the cut of the chest area. They will be available across the day for PS4, Xbox One and PC.

Dead or Alive 5: Last Round X BlazBlue/Guilty Gear Xrd Crossover Costumes Get First Screenshots

oei Tecmo and Team Ninja released the first image of the previously announced crossover costumes that will appear Dead or Alive 5: Last Round, featuring outfits from Blazblue: Central Fiction, Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- and Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2.

16 costumes will be made available, and as usual they will be available as a set or as individual purchases. Those who purchased the sixth season pass of the game will get them without additional purchases.

The screenshots showcase Kasumi as Noel Vermillion and Hitomi as Tsubaki Yayoi from Blazblue: Central Fiction, while Honoka poses as Elfelt and Nyotengu as Dizzy from the Guilty Gear Xrd series.

The costumes will be released on March 14th.

Dead or Alive 5: Last Round Battle Royal 2017 Details Released

Despite the base game’s age, Team NINJA continues to support Dead or Alive 5: Last Round’s competitive scene. That continues this year, with the announcement of the Dead or Alive 5: Last Round Battle Royal 2017.

This year’s installment of Team NINJA’s competitive tour for DOA5 Last Round focuses on five tournaments that they’ve dubbed “The Magnificent Five.” These include the four qualifier tournaments: Final Round 20 in March, Summer Jam 11 in August, Republic of Fighters in September, and the Fall Classic 2k17 in October.

The fifth and final tournament in “The Magnificent Five” is none other than the Battle Royal 2017 Final at Northeast Championships XVIII in December. As with previous Battle Royal’s the winners of the qualifying tournaments will be sponsored into the Battle Royal 2017 Final, with Team NINJA paying for their travel, accommodations, and tournament fees.

Total prize pool bonuses for the DOA5 Last Round Battle Royal 2017 is $10,000, with a $1,000 prize pool bonus for each of the qualifier tournaments and $6,000 for the final at NEC XVIII.

Team NINJA Shows Off Some More Arc System Works Crossover Costumes for Dead or Alive 5: Last Round

Last week, Team NINJA showed off the first batch of Guilty Gear and BlazBlue crossover costumes for Dead or Alive 5: Last Round. Now, they’re back with another batch of crossover costumes.

This time, the costumes features the ninja Ayane as Guilty Gear’s I-No, alongside Kokoro and Tina as BlazBlue’s Celica A. Mercury and Bullet respectively. With this, we have now seen 7 of the 16 promotional crossover costumes from Guilty Gear Xrd -REVELATOR- (and REV2), and BlazBlue: Central Fiction. This leaves 9 more that may or may not be revealed before the costumes’ March 14 release date.

Get Some More Guilty Gear in Your Dead or Alive 5: Last Round with Another Batch of Crossover Costume Reveals

Team NINJA has revealed another batch of Arc System Works crossover costumes for Dead or Alive 5: Last Round. This latest reveal focuses purely on Guilty Gear crossover costumes for some of DOA’s finest.

Guilty Gear veteran Jam Kuradoberi and newcomer Jack-O Valentine are represented costumes for Lei Fang and Christie, respectively. In addition to this, Ninja Gaiden characters Momiji and Rachel dress up as Baiken and Millia Rage in something of a triple crossover.









With this, only five more crossover costumes have yet to be shown before the set’s March 14 release date.

With the costume packs release just a couple of days away, Team NINJA has revealed a few more Arc System Works crossover costumes for Dead or Alive 5: Last Round.

Unlike the last reveal which focused solely on Guilty Gear, this latest one features a bit of both from that game and BlazBlue: Central Fiction. From the latter, we have a Makoto costume for Mila, and, fittingly enough, a Mu-12 costume for Phase-4 (both because she’s an artificial weaponized clone, and because Kasumi is cosplaying Noel). Meanwhile, from Guilty Gear, we have Ramlethal Valentine being cosplayed by the luchador La Mariposa.

Players are be able to purchase 16 alternate outfits, either in a set or individually. If you own the game's sixth season pass, however, you will gain access to these costumes at no further cost.

Team Ninja is still working on churning out monthly DLC costume sets for Dead or Alive 5: Last Round, and today they’re releasing a brand new one, over two year after the release of the game.

This time around, the set focuses on the pure charm of Shinto shrine maidens, with a few variations in color and cut for the traditional outfit.

Version 1.10 Released

Team NINJA is coming out with a lot of new, successful content and while Nioh might be a huge priority at the moment it's nice to see patch updates are still coming out for DOA5 almost five years after it was released. This patch doesn't add a lot, but it does change a few things up and the community is talking about it.

DestructionBomb: Minor balance changes. Zack's 33P/7K launch after blown back was removed and even more character adjustments. Raidou and Naotora small improvements, Hayabusa's WR4K unfinished or interrupting the P will now leave Hayabusa in a squatting state or crouched, some Gen Fu attacks can be neutral thrown etc.

Matt Ponton: Oh snap, wondering how Emmanuel Master Rodriguez will handle Hayabusa's WR 4K change (Getting Counter/Hi-counter Hit while attempting it will count as standing instead of jump state now, and is considered Squatting so susceptible to both Standing and Crouching OHs)

Today Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja are releasing another set of costumes for their fighting game Dead or Alive 5: Last Round.

In what is probably one of the longest-running nickel and dime process of the history of video game, this time around we get a series of sexy cowgirl costumes for the heroines of the game. If you’re wondering, no cowboys are included.

The costumes are part of the sixth season pass for the game, which is supposed to end in June.

Dead or Alive 5: Last Round Gets Gust Swimsuit DLC; Gust Announces Plenty of Crossover Costumes

During a presentation held today in Japan, Atelier developer Gust announced a large bunch of crossover costumes between its own games and more.



First of all, we get the Gust Swimsuit DLC for Dead or Alive 5: Last Round, including swimsuits inspired by the developer’s games. In the images at the bottom of the post we can see Marie-Rose’s costume inspired by Ilmeria Von Leinweber from Atelier Firis: The Alchemist and the Mysterious Journey, and Honoka’s swimsuits designed after Liliana from Nights of Azure 2.

The package will be released very soon, on June 13th. It will include 17 costumes (which means that they’ll be just for the girls as usual)

Secondly, we get a special batch of crossover costumes that will bind the brand’s latest games, Atelier Firis: The Alchemist and the Mysterious Journey, was just announced for western release yesterday Blue Reflection (that conveniently ), and Nights of Azure 2. You can see a few examples in the gallery.

Last, but not least, Phantasy Star Online 2 will get Atelier-inspired costumes and accessories, precisely from Atelier Escha & Logy: Alchemists of the Dusk Sky and Atelier Sophie: Alchemist of the Mysterious Book.

The goodies will let Phantasy Star Online 2 players dress like Escha, Logy, Plachta and Sophie.

During the same presentation, Gust also announced a new mainline Atelier game from the “Mysterious” series, titled Atelier Riddy and Sour: Alchemists of the Mysterious Painting, and the mobile game Atelier Online: Alchemists of Bresier.
