Seriously, this is unbelievable. You can pull someones stomach out of their mouth TK, cut their heads of and smash them into pieces all with gallons of blood. That's realism and is acceptable. But, as soon as you make their boobs and butt big you've crossed the line in non-realism?

Not only that but that's a level of violence that nobody except for a small handful of people will ever experience. You can go to the beach and look at women in bikini's and damn near every human will have sex sooner or later, so why the cover up

Nevermind that in those games conventional weapons are always ineffective [Look how bullets and law enforcement job in fiction.] in fiction anyway because it's more entertaining. Seriously, I'm done. This game is just wow: QTE's Interactibles SJW character design's Pre-order Goro Barely any new characters despite saying that most of the cast would new and only 8 characters from "Realism" Everything is dark brooding and brown I miss the old school over the top MK.

So you're starting to turn against it and be more towards SF? I guess I'm concerned about how the game plays.

Well, SF is scrubbified to appeal to casuals. MK has always been about casuals, but these changes are meh. I feel like they just made Injustice with MK characters. I turned to MK because SF4 was so bad. Looks like I'm going back home.

I like the look of it so far but I really want to see what's under the hood.

Quitality is the new ality which allows you to blow your head off in "humiliation". Also the PS4 version will support PS3 fightsticks: www.eventhubs.com/news/2015/mar/19/mortal-kombat-x-ps4-will-support-playstation-3-fightsticks/Updated: The stream has just announced Quitalities. These take place when a player online rage quits. The quitter's character's head will explode as a way of "making the winner look better."
Earlier: Today's Kombat Kast stream has been packed with new information about NetherRealm Studios' upcoming fighter -- Mortal Kombat X.
The NRS crew announced on stream that MKX on PlayStation 4 will support last-gen fightsticks.
This means that if you have a PlayStation 3 fightstick (such as the Injustice: Gods Among Us special edition stick), you will be able to use it on the next-gen system for MKX.
More information is set to drop later.

That's what I mean, where do you draw the line with fiction. What I notice with these people is the line is arbitrary.

I still want someone to explain to me how lowering their proportions is more tasteful compared to gratuitous violence. Now people are claim the old designs were more realistic. Yes, because they used real actors. Once they used 3-D models they're proportions became completely unrealistic. Just a bunch of apologetics by white-knights.

Yes, ripping people's stomach from their mouth is good taste. They were actors in the past and I remember Johnny Cage was based off of Van Damme. I'm so sick of women going into everything and making it all about them. When in reality it has nothing to do with them. The company wouldn't have changed anything otherwise if it weren't for these stupid white knights. The real question is why does it matter? Why don't these women make their own games and create their own game to sell. It wouldn't sell and that's why.

Well, unfortunately as games become more inclusive more casuals and of course women come in and dumb down these games. Which is why modern games are terrible, there selling point seems to be storytelling and all this garbage about games being art. It's why I don't consider myself a gamer anymore.

I'm all for companies making money and games having good stories. What I don't like are women trying to include themselves into everything men do and ruin it. Do they not have any existence outside of what men create? Rhetorical question btw.

I think it's an attempt to cut out all escape routes. Since men are retreating into video games. They advance into video games, it's too bad western men have no spine. Harada [Tekken producer] got the same problem with Lucky Chloe and essentially told the White-Knights and women who were whining about this to go to hell politely. Western men are just cowards.

Women want men to invest all of their time and energy into them and don't want them enjoying anything, sexual or not. They've already ruined tv and movies and now they want video games and comics. After that you have the internet that's the only place of true freedom left. Thankfully they can never take over it completely as long as you know where to go to and avoid the morons.

Unplayable? Figures. www.eventhubs.com/news/2015/apr/14/mortal-kombat-x-pc-unplayable-reports-say-players-experiencing-game-crashes-and-more-steam/This is why you wait for a game to come out on sale before getting it lol. Updated: NetherRealm Studios has stated on Twitter that they are aware of the PC issues and are working closely with Steam to resolve them.
Earlier: Reports on social media, the Steam forums, and even our inbox state that the PC version of Mortal Kombat X is currently unplayable. Numerous users are experiencing game crashes, freezing, and button mapping issues.
According to VG247, whenever a player attempts to launch any of Mortal Kombat X's menu options, the game immediately bottoms and returns the user to their desktop. Some have been fortunate to get time with one-player mode, but at the cost of stability issues.
The main culprit behind these issues is believed to be Steam's new content download system. With this new process, the game does not download fully. Roughly 3GB of files are downloaded initially to allow players to access a small portion of the game while the rest of the files download in the background.
Hit the jump to read more. Unfortunately, the remainder of the files never download. The remaining files are separated into 23 packs that are set to be installed after they're downloaded, but the game never downloads them, leaving players with 3GB of files that lead to game crashes.
The required install packs may be released soon, however, as Steam typically releases their content around 12 noon PDT.
On the flip-side, there have been reports that the game is working, but with limitations. 1v1 and training are available, along with most of the roster, but Sub-Zero, Scorpion, Shinnok, Goro, story and online are not accessible at this time.
NetherRealm Studios and WB have yet to release any official statements on the matter, but we'll update our story as details unfold.

You never did make that thread. But, yeah companies in a desire to be more inclusive are killing video games. I also love the invalidation and shaming tactics. "Omg they shrunk her boobs it's the end of the world" when what it's really about is why they shrunk the boobs. It would be one thing if you made a small chested characters, that's fine. But, to changing someones proportions drastically in one game? i smell bullshit and the realism argument is selective BS. Like where do you draw the line between fantasy ninja's killing armed men with just swords and magic. With boobs?

It's not " the end of thee world" but this is about the camel's nose under the tent. Once they get their hands on this, what is next. The fact that they gave in to these stupid demands is a disturbing and a sign of worse to come. More women with large boobs than super ninjas so that's a dumb argument anyways.

Introducing Mortal Kombat's First Gay Character “I see people are picking up on the subtle exposition contained in Kung Jin’s flashback."
By Jenna PitcherMortal Kombat’s first gay male character may be new playable Mortal Kombat X character Kung Jin, according to an interpretation of flashback scenes exploring the character’s past.
Kung Jin is a member of the Special Forces Unit and descendant of series regular Kung Lao. One particular flashback scene in Chapter 4 features Raiden urging Kung Jin to join the Shaolin Monks. “I can't... They won't accept,” Kung Jin says, with Raiden responding. “They care only of what is in your heart, not whom your heart desires.”
NetherRealm cinematic director Dominic Cianciolo confirmed the theories, tweeting “I see people are picking up on the subtle exposition contained in Kung Jin's flashback. Glad we have observant fans!” Mortal Kombat X Enjoys Biggest Launch in Franchise's History - IGN News 00:41
We've previously explored in-depth why we need more gay characters in games and noted that “subtlety in writing should always be praised and it’s more representative of real LGBT people. Sexuality is a spectrum and should be depicted as such, avoiding the pitfalls of stereotypes.” Thanks, Kotaku.www.ign.com/articles/2015/04/17/introducing-mortal-kombats-first-gay-characterNow the boobs thing is starting to make sense. SJW strikes again.

Apparently PC mods allow you to play characters that aren't out yet. www.eventhubs.com/news/2015/apr/18/pc-modders-make-rain-tanya-sindel-and-baraka-playable-mortal-kombat-x/Earlier this week, we saw that Mortal Kombat X's final boss was made playable by way of PC mods. Now, it looks like more characters from the game's story mode can be used in battle.
PC modders managed to make Rain, Baraka, Sindel, and Tanya playable. Important note: These characters appear as CPU opponents in story mode and are not fully fleshed out fighters. This is not a case of DLC characters being hidden on-disc.
Even though they aren't full characters with Variations and the works, each still has a handful of unique special moves and attacks. It's pretty awesome to see MK favorites such as these in the game's training mode, even if they aren't actual characters on the game's roster.
If you're anything like me, these videos will make beg the Elder Gods for another Kombat Pack with these fighters included. Check out Rain, Tanya, Baraka, and Sindel in action below.

Unlock skins without playing app: www.eventhubs.com/news/2015/may/09/someone-learned-how-unlock-mortal-kombat-xs-mobile-costumes-consoles-without-ever-playing-app/In Mortal Kombat X, there are a handful of alternate costumes that can only be unlocked by playing the mobile app, and once unlocked, can be used on both mobile and console versions.
Unlocking these costumes requires players to sign up for a WBPlay account, then proceed to accomplish various tasks in the app. However, it looks as though someone figured out an exploit that bypasses playing the mobile app and unlocks the mobile costumes on consoles with minimal effort.
A GameFAQs user named Karalycos wrote a post that details how to unlock these alternate outfits. All you have to do is select online mode and visit the ranked player vs. player leaderboard. Once there, download a player's kombat history, then exit online mode. If lucky, you will unlock the following costumes: Injustice Scorpion, Farmer Jax, Ninja Mime Johnny Cage, and Klassic Kitana.
You can check out a video of this exploit being performed in-game after the jump.
