The MKX steam forum is in an uproar about this and rightfully so. I may not like MKX as a game (and other reasons) but it sucks to see the customers getting the shaft from WB. WB also hasnt fully fixed Arkham Knight on pc.

I'll be sure not to buy their content in the future until they improve.

Are you still planning on playing it a lot? Probably, not. MK is fun for a few minutes but the meta game is a bit to shallow or me. I do like the style variations.

They have a lot of good ideas but it isn't as deep a fighter. Still lots of tech to discover nonetheless. That exists even in party fighers.

It was worse than awful. It was a catastrophe.
Also the wording is disturbing. "Not awful" doesn't mean fantastic.
It's bad when the Japanese companies got into PC gaming way later and are making huge success on PC and thanking the market while doing a great job. The western developers like MK are just bumbling. Shameful.

Last few ports by Warner have been garbage. Arkham Knight has no reason to be this bad. You're right about the Japanese, though. Been playing MGS: Ground Zeroes and it runs perfectly. Next game for me is Phantom Pain.

Boon: 'I'm a huge Prince fan, so I was thinking Purple Rain' - A look into the inspiration behind the Prince of Edenia
Many of the characters in Mortal Kombat have interesting origin stories to say the least. Some were created because of glitches, or rumors that eventually came to pass.
One in particular found himself among the many ninjas that we've met over the years because of Ed Boon's -- co-creator of the series -- love for Prince's music.
“That's one of the things about Mortal Kombat, many of the characters have these goofy origin stories,” says Ed Boon in regards to Rain's first appearance as a teaser in Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3.
He recently confirmed the connection between the MK character and historic musician via Twitter.
At the time, the ninjas present in the series were all palette swaps of one another. There was yet to be a purple one, and in homage to Prince's album Purple Rain, this new ninja was crowned as the Prince of Edenia.
In the current installment of Mortal Kombat, Rain only appears as part of the story. Perhaps if we're lucky we may see the purple-clad ninja become playable as a DLC character down the road.
Prince Rogers Nelson passed away on April 21st, 2016. The visionary artist had an effect on millions of lives in his time, and he will be sorely missed.

Megan Fox wants to play Kitana in the next Mortal Kombat movie
Megan Fox, star of the modern Transformers and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie series, is a Mortal Kombat fan. A couple of years back, we saw her play Mortal Kombat 9 in a MTV news interview, and she recently brought up the classic fighting game franchise again in a recent discussion with CinePop.
Talking about the new TMNT film, Fox was asked if there were any super heroes in particular that she'd enjoy playing on the big screen. Though she didn't quite have an answer for that, she did have a video game role at the ready.
"I've thought of Kitana from Mortal Kombat, if they ever make that movie again. I always loved her with the blades and the fans." Not long ago, we learned that Saw director James Wan was brought on board to direct a Mortal Kombat remake. Now that he's currently in the midst of making the new Aquaman film, however, it might be a while before we hear anything on the MK front.
It's always a treat seeing big-time stars mentioning our beloved fighting game series in the limelight. Especially when it comes in the form of a real-life Hadouken.
You can check out the interview with Megan Fox below. She talks about her desire to play Kitana at around the 2:17 mark.

Mortal Kombat X is getting their very own line of beer
We're not sure the exact release date yet, but Sound Brewery will soon be releasing their Mortal Kombat X-inspired series of beer.
Now we'll all be able to get our Bo-rai-cho on with three distinct flavors in Scorpion's Imperial Stout, Sub-Zero's IPA and Raiden's Imperial Saison. You'll see the three bottle designs in the image below:

Panda Global retracts 'No Fatalities' clause for their new Mortal Kombat XL rep: Scar
Brad "Scar" Vaughn has officially become PG|Scar as Panda Global announced this afternoon that they struck a signing deal with the top Mortal Kombat XL player.
Scar is joining the likes of players like PG|Filipino Champ, PG|Wobbles and PG|Plup on the Panda Gaming roster. Unlike Street Fighter or Super Smash Bros., Mortal Kombat is a franchise known for its over the top blood and gore, specifically in its Fatality finishing moves.
It seems Panda Global wants to keep things closer to a "PG" rating, as they've included a contract clause that bans Scar from performing these gruesome finishers. That's not all, however.
Should Scar lose a match and his opponent perform a Fatality, Scar is required to exit the match to stop the animated sequence.
It'll be interesting to see if opponents go out of their way to add any insult to injury, knowing that Scar must police this aspect of the game while he's on stream.
Any well-versed MKXL player will inevitably take the conversation straight to inquiries about X-Ray attacks, which are mid-match sequences depicting gruesome bone breaks and organ mutilation, or Brutalities, which are essentially sudden Fatalities.
Seeing as these are part of the gameplay, there doesn't seem to be much Panda Global can realistically do to restrict these other types of MKXL death blows. Below you'll see Scar's PG welcome spot.
Panda Global has officially retracted their clause banning Scar from performing Fatalities in tournament. Below you'll see their recent Tweet informing the public of their decision:

That makes as much sense as "soft costume ban" in DOA5 Tournaments. Lets face it MK is a Mature rated game, which was one of the games that eventually lead to the creation of the ESRB Rating System. Why even make that as a contract when they'd be better off playing other games that don't have fatalities?

Ed Boon's enigmatic tweet suggests potential for Kombat Pack 3 for Mortal Kombat XL
With the announcement that NetherRealm Studios is busy at work with Injustice 2, to be released in 2017, much of the Mortal Kombat community is now wondering if the company is looking to update Mortal Kombat XL just one more time.
With as big as the last update was, which effectively changed the name of the game from MKX to MKXL, we wouldn't be surprised if NRS deemed it the final send off for the tenth Mortal Kombat, but a tweet today from team lead Ed Boon gives us hope for one more:
A confirming statement? Not at all, but the fact that Boon would bring up KP3 in this way for no reason at all seems pretty unlikely. As many NRS game players know, Boon often keeps the community vaguely informed with leading tweets like the one above. Bringing in new characters almost always sees something of a bump in general interest for a game, and we have over six months to wait for the next big NRS title. It wouldn't be too much of a reach to see a third Kombat Pack come out. Source: eventhubs

$50,000 bonus grows Mortal Kombat X EVO pot, more MKX news possibly on the way
Though we're sure NetherRealm Studios is more than a little busy developing Injustice 2, they haven't shelved development for Mortal Kombat X just yet.
Plenty of community members have been speculating as to whether the announcement of the company's newest endeavor would mean we've seen the last of MKX kontent, but Creative Director, Ed Boon, posted the following to his Twitter:
For those who didn't notice the first time though, Boon spells out "EVO" with the seemingly randomly capitalized letters. The Las Vegas mega tourney is now less than a month away, and you can bet we'll have our eyes glued to the Mortal Kombat X finals stream in anticipation for this announcement. Later the same day, Boon announced that WB Games and NRS would be adding a $50,000 pot bonus for MKX at EVO. We're not sure if this is the "cool news" he was referring to, or if we should be on the look out for more come EVO. Source: eventhubs
