Injustice 2 Watchtower live stream to show 'an exclusive character game-play reveal'
The NetherRealm Studios crew is back with another live stream to show up their highly anticipated upcoming fighting title, Injustice 2.
It is currently unknown what exactly to expect from this broadcast, however, an annotation on last week's Story Mode trailer noted that we will be seeing "an exclusive character game-play reveal." Additionally, NetherRealm Studios Creative Director Ed Boon started a campaign on Twitter earlier this week allowing fans to ask him questions that he will answer on the Watchtower stream.
With Injustice 2's public beta test on the way, a handful of new characters shown in the last trailer, and a fast approaching release date, this broadcast should be packed with stuff you won't want to miss.
The stream is now live.

Injustice 2 beta codes being sent out after today's Watchtower stream
Moments ago on the Injustice 2 Watchtower stream, NetherRealm Studios Creative Director Ed Boon announced that beta test codes will begin shipping out today.
Some fans will be receiving codes to try out Injustice 2 after the live stream is over.
If you don't get a code, don't worry. The beta codes will be sent out in waves, meaning you should get one sometime soon after.

A sword, explosive batarangs and teleports, Robin is absolutely vicious in Injustice 2; see his official gameplay reveal here
We just caught our first in-game footage of Robin, (the Damien Wayne version) and he's a downright deadly character.
From the trailer we see the hooded Robin utilize a sword as his primary weapon, but his approach is greatly augmented by various batarang throws that zip around the screen and can explode at various times.
Teleports and quick movements make Robin appear to be a nimble character, but also apparently capable of some zoning.

Ed Boon says Injustice 2 will have the biggest initial roster and the biggest DLC roster of any NRS game - Just how big will the roster be?
Today, NetherRealm had a special stream dedicated to Injustice 2 where they showed off a bunch of gameplay and moves, showed the official Robin trailer and answered a bunch of questions.
During this lengthy Q&A session, Ed Boon said something that's bound to get you excited for the upcoming roster - namely, that this game will have the biggest initial roster as well as the biggest DLC roster of any NRS game to date. Continue below for more details as to the potential roster size.
Looking back at NetherRealm's previous games, Mortal Kombat 9 has the biggest starting roster, with 25 characters available right off the bat, meaning that Injustice 2 will launch with at the very least 26 playable characters.
In addition to this, we got confirmation last week from NRS that the game's Ultimate Edition will include a whopping 9 DLC characters added to the roster.
It's worth noting that counting Goro, Mortal Kombat X also had 9 DLC characters, but Injustice 2 is doing the same thing with Darkseid, who seems to be separate from these 9, meaning that we have 10 DLC characters set for the game already.
This means that Injustice 2's roster will contain at least 36 characters - not counting the also confirmed Premier Skins which let you transform your character into similar, but different, characters from DC lore, the currently confirmed ones being Reverse-Flash, John Stewart and Power Girl.
It's also worth noting that with both Injustice and Mortal Kombat X, NetherRealm Studios went further than the original DLC plans they'd shared and delivered extra characters in the game's second year, so it's possible that this game's roster might grow even further than the current minimum of 36 characters, though, of course, nothing of that sort has been confirmed as of right now.

Next wave of Injustice 2 beta codes being sent out today Earlier this week, the first wave of codes were sent out to many who signed up for the Injustice 2 beta. In fact, thousands of codes have already gone out across Xbox One and PlayStation 4. If you haven't received a code yet, it looks like you might have to wait a bit longer. Over on the WB Games forums, one NetherRealm Studios representative by the name of NRS-Lanny posted an update about the beta. The statement explains that the testing has already provided useful information about the online experience, and that several bug fixes have been implemented for the next version of the beta. It also says that the second wave of beta codes will be going out when "version 2" of the beta is released. NetherRealm Studios Creative Director Ed Boon has announced on Twitter that wave 2 of the Injustice 2 beta codes is being sent out today. If you didn't receive a code last time, be sure to keep an eye on your inbox throughout the day. Source: eventhubs

It's freakin' gorgeous, but very much like the first Injustice - Maximilian's Injustice 2 beta impressions; talks netcode, gameplay and more
NetherRealm Studios went live with the Injustice 2 beta on Tuesday, and a select group of players lucky enough to receive codes have been able to play the upcoming title at limited capacity.
Maximilian was able to get his hands on the beta, and has released an impressions video to share with us his experiences thus far. Keep in mind this is one of the earliest playable versions of the game, and only four characters are currently available.
It seems developers have made it a priority to highlights Injustice 2's biggest new feature, custom gear, as you'll get a ton of it as you play through the beta. Returning characters Superman and Batman feel very similar to their Injustice 1 iterations, and their combos are "virtually identical" according to Max.
Max also comments on the game's netcode, which you'll hear about along with plenty more in the video below.

New Injustice 2 character reveal coming this Thursday Injustice 2 fans have been getting time in with the online beta test, familiarizing themselves with four of the 12 currently announced characters. This Thursday, it looks like we'll be meeting another new playable fighter. On the official Injustice 2 website's homepage, an image telling when the next character reveal is taking place sits in plain sight. Fans should gear up (no pun intended) for this Thursday, February 2nd. In the Injustice 2 Story Mode trailer, we saw Bane, Poison Ivy, Brainiac, and Robin featured. Robin went on to be officially revealed as playable, and in-game screenshots confirmed the inclusion of Brainiac. As it stands right now, Bane, Poison Ivy, and Brainiac still need an official reveal, so we may be seeing one of them this Thursday. At this time, there are no details on what form this character reveal will take. If I were a betting man, I'd say that we'll likely see a reveal trailer early Thursday morning and a live stream sometime next week showing off the character in action. Source: eventhubs

New character profiles for Injustice 2 - Robin, Bane, Poison Ivy, and Brainiac New character profiles for the recently announced Robin, Brainiac, Poison Ivy, and Bane have now been added to the official Injustice website. We saw these characters in the most recent story trailer. As of right now though, we only have game play footage of Robin. Bane is the only returning fighting among these characters, and yet he looks completely different than he did from his appearance in the first Injustice game. Based on the character profile information, it seems that while Robin is on the side of Superman, the other three characters, Brainiac, Bane, and Poison Ivy all have their own interests in mind. During the first Injustice's story, we saw that Bane was working for Superman towards the end of the story. This seems to be another example of how the "lines are redrawn," as Brainiac put it. Balance changes noted to be in the Injustice 2 beta update - Supergirl nerfs and a slight buff for Atrocitus
So as many of us know, there's been an update to the Injustice 2 beta. The most notable change is obviously the inclusion of Blue Beetle to the playable roster.
Beyond that though, there are apparently balance changes that are present with this update. So far, only changes with Supergirl and Atrocitus have been noted.
These changes were discovered by RedRaptor, a top MKX player.
What do some of these changes actually mean though? Hit the jump below for a quick explanation. We see that Supegirl's frame data and options on block have been reduced by quite a bit. One of her main advantageous strings went from being +7 on block to +2 on block.
Being that Supergirl's D.1 (or crouching light) comes out in 7 frames, this meant that it was a true block string previously without any chance of fail. Now, the opponent might be able to armor through (not recommended) or backdash the incoming D.1.
Meanwhile it looks like the advantage Supergirl has after an air grab has been reduced as you apparently can't "corpse hop" afterwards anymore. This means you won't be able to cross the opponent up with an air move while they lay on the ground.
Atrocitus appears to have not gotten any nerfs, and instead had his D.1 sped up to a 6 frame start up from a 7 frame start up.

Scream and Shout with This New Black Canary Footage for Injustice 2
Following the announcement of Black Canary last week for Injustice 2, NetherRealm have released some more in-game footage of the sonic superhero fighting against Deadshot, Supergirl, Blue Beetle and Batman. This footage sheds some more light on her combat trait, which has her charging up her Canary Cry to release a high frequency screech to stun her opponent. A yellow level scream will only knock opponents back a short distance, while a fully charged red Canary Cry will send people flying full screen. If Black Canary is close enough, the Cry can cause a wallbounce but from more than midscreen, it will cause a wall hit and a mini stagger state once the opponent lands. This gives her time to run in and continue a combo.
These fights also outline Deadshot’s combat trait as well as his zoning potential in Injustice 2. There is clear inspiration from Erron Black’s Marksman Variation from Mortal Kombat X in Deadshot’s kit, especially with his rifle and bouncing bullets. His combat trait has him switching between standard, incendiary and acidic rounds, with his mask glowing a different color depending on the bullet type. If you hated day-one Deathstrokes back in the original Injustice, be prepared for some campy Deadshot players when you boot up Injustice 2.

Nature Will Rise Against You as Swamp Thing Joins Injustice 2 Rising from the mire to protect his habitat, Swamp Thing has joined the Injustice 2 roster. Using plant life and clones of himself, Swamp Thing commands nature to fight for him in order to defeat his enemies. Great at mid range, Swamp Thing excels at grabbing opponents out of the sky with twisting vines, then smacking them into the ground with tons of force. These command grabs remind me a hell of a lot of Kan-Ra’s bandage throws from Killer Instinct, as Swamp Thing flings his opponents through the air. He can sprout trees out of his back to stop any opponents trying to jump in on him, and can summon logs to kick towards incoming enemies. Swamp Thing takes some elements from Noob Saibot too, summoning clones to lay the smack down on anyone that tries to meddle with nature. His super is especially brutal, dragging his opponents into the depths of the earth and beating the ever-loving tar out of them with giant fists of plant matter. He can even disappear into the swamp, with his crouch having the bottom half of his body submerged within water. Swamp Thing also comes with a new stage, with heroes and villains battling it out in the bayou that the big green guardian protects. The huge alligator hanging in the background is a great touch and with NetherRealm’s love of Easter eggs, I’d love to see Reptile occasionally sneaking around the swamp in the background. Scarecrow, Cyborg, and Green Lantern headed to Injustice 2? First footage of the mobile game features all three alongside current console characters The first footage that we've seen of Injustice 2's mobile game surfaced today, and the nearly 13 minute clip gives us a legitimate glimpse at what to expect from the app. What's interesting, though, is the inclusion of a handful of characters that have not yet been revealed for the console version -- Scarecrow, Cyborg, and Green Lantern, specifically. We did see the confirmation of Green Lantern as playable last month, however, as one of the premier alternate skins is specifically designed for him. Though the first Injustice mobile game had characters exclusive to the app, all three fighters can be seen on the console version's potential leak list, which has been correct with each reveal so far. At this time, we can't say that Scarecrow and Cyborg will be playable on consoles, but it does seem like there's a good chance. Source: eventhubs

A new super for Green Lantern? Scarecrow's super? The Injustice 2 mobile game may have given us a sneak peak at GL's and Scarecrow's super While we haven't had the opportunity to see Green Lantern in action yet for Injustice 2, we do know for sure that he is in the game thanks to the announcement of the Jon Stewart skin for Green Lantern. Recently, we saw gameplay of Green Lantern, Scarecrow, and Cyborg within the Injustice 2 mobile game. It seems likely that the Green Lantern in the mobile game shares many animations from his console counterpart. Through the mobile game, we are now able to see Green Lantern's super move. It's not known if this super will be the same in the console version of Injustice 2. We're not sure if Scarecrow will be apart of the Injustice 2 roster yet, but if the leaked list is anything to go by then it seems like this will be the case. We get a glimpse of his super from the mobile game as well. www.eventhubs.com/news/2017/jan/19/rumor-swamp-thing-doctor-fate-scarecrow-supposed-injustice-2-leak-list-might-just-be-real-deal-after-last-few-days/For comparison's sake, I've provided a video that showcases Green Lantern's super from Injustice 1. Nearly 2 million matches played and a lot of appearances from Dex-Starr - here are some stats from Injustice 2's online beta Ran from January 24th to February 21st, the Injustice 2 beta allowed NetherRealm Studios and Warner Bros. to gather data and help better develop the game's online experience. While most of that information is very likely meant for internal use only, the game's official Twitter account did share some interesting statistics now that the beta is closed. The following infographic was released earlier today and gives us a look at numbers such as how many matches were played during the beta period, total pieces of gear dropped, and even how many times Dex Starr made an appearance on screen. And to whomever played 3,081 matches... I tip my hat to you. Source: eventhubs

The Flash and Cyborg super moves shown in Injustice 2 mobile Recent footage of the Injustice 2 mobile game have given us potential glimpses at what we can expect to see in its console counterpart. So far, we've seen characters such as Scarecrow, The Flash, Cyborg, and Green Lantern playable, and we've even seen super moves for two of the previously mentioned fighters. Today, we see supers for the other two. Footage showing The Flash and Cyborg's powerful attacks has surfaced on YouTube. Cyborg seems to knock his opponent into another dimension, while The Flash uses his speed to land a barrage of strikes his foe never saw coming. While we can't say for sure that these will be exactly the same if these characters are added to the console roster, it surely isn't beyond the scope of possibility. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Injustice 2 gets 'Shattered Alliances - Part 1' story trailer, Cyborg officially shown Injustice 2 just got a fresh new story trailer out, which gives more insight into the continuing conflict between Batman and Superman, as well as the various heroes and villains on each's side.
