I read your thread over on KMC and I saw that someone got it closed due to their use of foul language and childish antics. It was a pity, as I was hoping to see some info as to why Wolverine is at a higher level than what the handbooks list him as.

I did notice that certain members posted that they had previously provided info in the form of issue numbers. I went back and found the post in reference, but sadly, it wasn't very informative.

I don't know if the info actually exists, and the few people that have seen it don't want others to view it. Or does the info not exist?

I am starting to believe that the info doesn't, as they have had multiple chances to show something... anything as to why they continually claim that Wolverine is as strong, quick, stealthy, fearless, experienced as they do.

I am not bashing anyone. Comics are a form of entertainment, and if these people are entertained thinking those things of Wolverine- that is fine and they are getting their money's worth. But the purpose of the forum and VS. debates is to consider the characters as they actually are, and how they are portrayed in the comics. Not how a select few people THINK that the character is.


My concern though is that if the info doesn't exist, are the people making the false claims lying or are they just over-hyping the characters in their own mind? If they are over-hyping the characters in their mind then that is ok, they buy the comics for entertainment value and that is fine. But if they are coming on to the forums to out-n-out lie, then can we actually believe anything that they have to say on any topic?

Just something to think about. I'm not bashing anyone and I'm not calling anyone a liar. I just don't understand why its so hard to get the proof (scans or complete issue info) that should be readily available.


<edit> I see that Seraphim (same one that just joined here?) opened a thread similar to yours. I hope the same childish antics don't continue in the new thread and that we get some sort of proof. Unfortunately, if past tendencies show us anything we probably wont.

Exactly, this thread had the EXACT same arguments for the most part, and noone showed up with anything. You've said it well, I didn't like that my thread got closed, because I felt it was a very good thread, addressing a very good point. It led to insults aimed at me and everyone else. I've seen no proof, therefore I believe this is just those certain same people who WANT Wolverine to be so godly, because when I got there it wasn't that bad, and it got worse and worse. At first I was buying the crap, but then I got a bit tired of it and I asked for proof. Spiderman's side brought there's easily, but where was Logan's? I never saw it, seriously, and I made that thread for them to prove what they said, and what did I get? Childish antics and insults, which is why I genuinely don't like fanboys, particularly Wolverine ones.

Wolverine was originally designed to be a superhuman with Spiderman like strength, agility, and reflex. He was also designed to have gloves with claws attached to them.
This was later revamped after issue 181. Wolverine strength was lower and his claws became real claws rather then simple attach to the glove. He began his career on the uncanny x-men with out a healing factor however he was written after a while to have one before this he was simply just extremely durable. This is a summary of info I got from (updated ultimate x-men guide)

Wolverine was also reference in the hulk ultimate guide as having superhuman strength as well.

Wolverine was also referenced in marvel vs DC which was made cannon in both lobo and green lanterns solo issues. The bio on wolverine list him with superhuman strength, agility, reflex, stamina, senses.


Wolverine in( x-men # 98) which is his sixth issue ever as an x-men is able to break unbreakable chains simply because he was angry so guy hit jean. He also in the same issue jump 30 feet into the air.

Logan superhuman abilities are not a new thing he has shown them since his creation. He also displayed superhuman reflexes and agility in the begging of his career as well while dodging many laser and flames while commenting on how easy it was.

There also never been on panel statement that has ever stated him being peak-human. The lowest he has ever been stated as is enhanced human which means superhuman. The two are interchangeable in comic books. Colossus has had his strength listed as enhanced human before.

Wolverine has also had his ability listed as special which in the text he said this meant superhuman.

Wolverine was also stated in the weapon x novel as having his already beyond human strength altered further. He was also stated to have his durability alter through chemical treatment in order to further his already impressive durability to well beyond humanly possible.

Also prior to the enhancements wolverine was so strong that he punch a hole in a man’s stomach and put a grenade in it. He also punched a man’s jaw so hard it went into his brain.

Also in civil war files he was listed with magnitude durability.


Interesting note Logan has been stated on two occasions as the hand of god. One arch even explained it in detail if I am not mistaken and revealed that Logan had lived at least 5 life times. The comic word is funny is it not?

Lifting a shark that weights between 1000 to 1200 pounds and throwing it in a boat from the water. (Look it up your self if u don’t believe how much a shark that size would way)

I was referring to Guest-Starring Wolverine justice, Like Lightning… New Thunderbolts Enemy Of The State Tie-In issue 4: which came out after the two were made interchangeable. In this issue it states Logan has enhanced strength and stamina.

Ok, I consider this a feat. Wolverine gets rammed in the back by the jet. That is a pretty durable feat, although he wasnt quite fast enough to get out of the way... The feat was supposed to show speed and agility, this goes against it.

That is it. The feat in question was Wolverine dodging laser fire while holding a girl. As can be seen, there isn't anything like that in that book. I have to admit I am sorely disappointed that I was lied to like that.

you were not lied to you just have the wrong issue 40. Your issue 40 is from a newer time period. The other issue 40 is from earlier. or did you think there one only one issue 40 lol

so don't assume he was lying when you simply have the wrong issue.

Ok, I consider this a feat. Wolverine gets rammed in the back by the jet. That is a pretty durable feat, although he wasnt quite fast enough to get out of the way... The feat was supposed to show speed and agility, this goes against it.

Here the jet is getting shot at, and Wolverine doesn't dodge here either. Although he is at a disadvantage as he can not see the other jet firing at him.

That is it. The feat in question was Wolverine dodging laser fire while holding a girl. As can be seen, there isn't anything like that in that book. I have to admit I am sorely disappointed that I was lied to like that.

This is just two of may feats which you can see puts logan well into superhuman ranges. This just goes to show you how inaccurate hand books can be, because these feats took place before the end book came out.

I know hand books are inaccurate, its a shame too.

I was referring to Guest-Starring Wolverine justice, Like Lightning… New Thunderbolts Enemy Of The State Tie-In issue 4: which came out after the two were made interchangeable. In this issue it states Logan has enhanced strength and stamina.

It happen in the weapon x novel page 6 if I am not mistaken. I need to find that dam book too I misplaced and I want to re read it. It had all sorts of interesting fact on Wolverine.

This isnt quite like he was dodging a laser being shot at him. He grabbed the girl and they started running. The 2 shadows were fighting and the lasers were energy being released as they were battling.

I am sorry to be the one to alert the media on this one, but they weren't unbreakable chains. They were unbreakable shackles.

Dr. Lang mentions that "those chromalloy shackles are unbreakable".

Now, I have know idea what "chromalloy" is or what it is comprised of. I don't know what tests the doctor ran to determine that the shackles were indeed unbreakable. But clearly he was wrong, was it due to the doctor being slightly deranged... We may never know.

I agree that it is a feat of strength, to be able to break free (from even steel shackles giving him the benefit of the doubt) while having very little leverage, is impressive. But as far as breaking unbreakable shackles, the proof is in the scan.



As to the jumping 30 feet into the air, I don't see that image at all.

It looks like he is jumping off the one Sentinel's leg to attack the other Sentinel in the third frame.

In the last frame he is dropped from the Sentinel's hand, from what appears to be a distance of about 20 feet.

Let me know if that is the image you were referring to.

Logan superhuman abilities are not a new thing he has shown them since his creation. He also displayed superhuman reflexes and agility in the begging of his career as well while dodging many laser and flames while commenting on how easy it was.

There also never been on panel statement that has ever stated him being peak-human. The lowest he has ever been stated as is enhanced human which means superhuman. The two are interchangeable in comic books. Colossus has had his strength listed as enhanced human before.

Wolverine has also had his ability listed as special which in the text he said this meant superhuman.

Wolverine was also stated in the weapon x novel as having his already beyond human strength altered further. He was also stated to have his durability alter through chemical treatment in order to further his already impressive durability to well beyond humanly possible.

Also prior to the enhancements wolverine was so strong that he punch a hole in a man’s stomach and put a grenade in it. He also punched a man’s jaw so hard it went into his brain.

Also in civil war files he was listed with magnitude durability.

nothign was hyped. spiderman dodged 3 freakign lazer whoppy using his agility. wolverien did the same thing in that scanns using speed. conmparable easily. The only problem with it is the fact he does not demenstrate agility. However that was neevr the debate was it?
